Author E. Lynn Harris died Friday, while on a promotional tour for his most recent book, Basketball Jones. 

The author's assistant confirmed that as of late he had been in bad health, but would not divulge any further details.

Harris' other works include the best seller Invisible Life and Just To Good To Be True.

He was just 54.

Sad.

      I CAN"T BELIEVE IT!!! HE was my favorite author, and such a nice person! I met him @ a book signing once, and he was so humble and courteous! Although there were 100 other people in line, he took the time to stand up and take a picture with me! My heart is broken! He was sooo creative and hid plots can't be topped! Praying for his friends and family! RIP, You'll be missed..

      The first book I ever read by him was And this too shall pass. I found it at my school's library and I never put it down. I was going to get Basketball Jones too. His is an excellent writer and he will be missed. R.I.P

      The same reason that the media doesn't say that white people are the real cause of the all the evilness in the world. Or that Latino are the cause of the overpopulation. That foreigner are the reason America is broke. That blacks in the south really cause a lot of crime.
      Now if he really died from AIDS-so be it, but unless your dad or brother gave it to him…there is now way for U to really know that.
      Not all gay men have AIDS, just like all stupid people have the right to speak out loud. It's just a fact.
