The Strangers Get A Sequel

The story is completely under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the horror flick, The Strangers, will be getting a sequel.

The script is going to be penned by the original's screenwriter/ director Bryan Bertino.

Production is supposed to start in the fall, but with who, we don't know. It better explain what the hell went down with Liv Tyler. Is her character wearing a potato sack on her face or what?

I loved the first one and will definitely go see the 2nd one. Most horror movies these days are a joke…that one was decent. It's actually based on a mixture of like 3 different stories…you can look it up and its pretty interesting to learn the stories that helped create it. I just wish we could have seen what happened to Liv Tylers character at the end. The main concept of it was based off of the Keddie Murders in April 1981, except it was a mother and a couple of her children who were murdered (thats where the combination of other stories fits in)..no one lived through the Keddie Murders so I don't know why Liv's character would.

I think the thing that made the original so damn scary was the fact that there WAS no storyline. There was no real personality to any of the characters and the thing is when stuff like this happens in real life you don't find out WHY. It's just a random act of violence between a few people who don't know each other. It's far scarier to not have a reason than it is to have a motive. Who cares whether or not you know why they are there or what the back story is? The important thing is that they are CRAZY and REALLY wanting to injure (and/or kill) someone and that is scary in the most delicious way.

strangers scared the shit out of me. honestly, it was probably one of the scariest movies ive ever seen- and movies dont tend to scare me anyway… maybe it touched on my personal fears, but none the less, it was terrifying. i find it hard to believe the sequel could possible top the first.

I would definitely go see a sequel. I go see all the horror movies I can, but The Strangers was the only one in a long to actually scare me. I don't want Liv Tyler in it, though. I think it'd be better if it was just the strangers again, just scaring more people again. It was so creepy the first time.

I actually just bought and saw the first one yesterday and I have to admit it is the only time I have ever screamed during a movie, I was actually scared for the rest of the night as well. I am completely excited for the sequel, I'd see it in a heartbeat although maybe not in theaters, not sure if I could handle it Also I think it's great the original writer is writing it because he obviously knows what he's doing.

I dont know why everyone is even questioning this… it was originally planned out to include a sequel, so that it will explain who the strangers are and why they just attack random people. the original was NOT based on a true story so much as the Manson murders inspired the writer as far as the victims being in the wrong place at the wrong time, hence "because you were home". Looking forward to it. The first movie scared me a lot, plus it made back triple what it cost to make and promote.
