LOVE HER! She's one of the most genuine people in pop music. Her new album goes against the grain of todays pop music, with no dr.luke, red one etc. producing the album, it was made in Avril and derycks home studio. I heard a snippet of "everybody hurts" and it's soulful and honest. CAN'T WAIT!

RE: pinkhotluv, your right the last album was irresponsible, she made it while drunk and realized that she made a mistake, in the new entertainment weekly interview she talks about how she strayed away from the honesty on most of her first two albums. I've head a tiny bit of "everybody hurts" "blackstar" and they're nothing like "girlfriend" they're more acoustic and soulful. I'm waiting to hear more.

Kids are fickle, you put out a song that people like and they're back on the bandwagon. Today so many young women are doing the avril thing, miley cyrus, kelly clarkson, veronica's, demi lavato and the list goes on, record labels pound something into the ground and wonder why can't we sell albums. In todays music industry (whatever's left) being a credible artist is more important than commercial success or whatever "commercial success" means anymore as artists who have hit singles ain't selling albums ie. lady gaga, katy perry etc.

Her last album was 50% crap and still it sold 6 million times, which is far more than what Britney, Katy Perry or Gaga can sell.
And now that she's back to her emo-heavy stuff and serious songwriting, I'm confident that the album will have 12 killer tracks again, which means she could sell 10m CDs again (like her 2nd album).

And more important, she writes her own music and has full control over everything now.
