Fox To Abort Controversial Family Guy Episode

Nothing is sacred on Family Guy. There is no discrimination on topics that creator Seth MacFarlane thinks that he and his team should hate on and over the years, they have kept pushing their boundaries further and further.
The Emmy-nominated show has hit a roadblock, however, as Seth told his fellow geeks, freaks, and fans that a recent episode produced about abortion might never air.
He said: “20th Century Fox… allowed us to produce this episode and then said, ‘You know what? We’re scared to fucking death of this.’”
We want to watch anything that makes TV execs wet themselves in fear, but the concern from the network may mean the episode will never make it to air. No details about the story have been released, but either way, it will spark a fury with TV audiences that the show has become accustomed to.
We're intrigued. Let's see it FOX!
Do U want to see this very special episode of Family Guy?

Re: imsoregistered – FG is no longer funny so McFarlane desperately wants to cause a controversy to revive the show. Amazingly, he already signed (for a fortune) until 2012, so short of a pack of wild dogs going after him and tearing him to pieces, we are going to be hearing about this sort of horror for a while (and then there's the reruns, which here are shown at 6pm!!!)
But they will do a musical number about a "Prom Night Dumpster Baby" and have a main character that is a pedophile. But dont get me wrong-FAmily Guy is my absolute favorite because they push so many boundaries. Funniest show on tv.
Yes..I love the Family Guy.
YES YES YES!!!! i love family guy!!!!
Re: VickyV –
OF COURSE I WON'T BE TUNING IN!!!
I SAID "HELL NO" !!!!!
IT'S FOR PEOPLE WHO THROW WORDS
LIKE "pus*** AROUND. THAT'S DISGUSTING!
can't they 'leak' it onto you tube or something?
Wow I never watched the show, I had no idea it was so edgy. All I know is that South Park did an episode where family guy was written by manatees.
Adam West wants to see it.
i wanna see it!
Oh so they wont air an episode about abortion, but the countless rape jokes on family guy are a-OK. God I hate that show.
Re: maxie pad – Definitely agree with you based on last season. Spent half the season using tired old Republican jokes and the horrible Nazi thing - the other half at the end was just… not shocking, not special, not really all that unique. I could definitely see the controversy angle on this one. Plus, it'll sell oodles of DVD's…
Ugh. Y'know, someone should take McFarlane aside and tell him that there's a huge difference between pushing the envelope and burning it. Instead of trying to find ways to deliver a bigger shock, try writing a good episode. I've barely laughed all season.
I was hoping for an episode about the transexual male who became pregnant.
Hell yea…family guy rocks my socks
yus pliss
HELL YEAH!! I freakin' love Family Guy!!
Re: imsoregistered – Oh, I always wondered about that! Some of the things on Adult Swim are just like…. "damn, aren't children tuning into this channel while their parents sleep!?!?!" … But that's still weird, don't you think? Actually, I'm watching Adult Swim right now and it's LITERALLY a blood bath on Squidbillies. Thanks for the info tho!
Re: *Rosenrot* – But that's the POINT of Family Guy. What makes abortion so much more protected than the WAR?! Or the holocaust?! Or GAYS?! Or blacks?!! OR WOMEN?!?! Or anybody?!!?! That's the WHOOOLLLE point. To poke fun at something that should NOT be laughed at. I know abortion is really hard for women, no matter what that woman believes in. But that's the point. Being gay can be really hard for some people too because a lot of other people don't accept that, but Family Guy still makes fun of gay people. And deaf people, and retarded people, and crippled people, and politicians, and lesbians, and blacks, and jews, and Indians, and Iranians, and Iraqis, and hispanics, and illegal immigrants, and legal immigrants, and suburban white men, and middle aged people, and old people, and fat people, and …
yea !!!
Seth MacFarlane is an utter genius. He knows how to make a comedy show, and if you don't have people like him pushing the boundaries then TV would just be boring.
AIR THE EP. FOX!!
but that's what family guy is about!
it's about making light of every day topics, so we can get a chuckle out of it.. instead of always being worried.
there have been more controversial things to appear on family guy than abortion. what's the big deal about abortion anyway? i don't think it's nearly as serious as war or racism.. and we sure see a lot of those jokes in FG.
Fox should shut the F up and air the episode.
Why Not?
I dont think it's that bad anyway.
I bet Bruno's ten times worse and if it offends people you dont watch simple as that, Duh! its not hard to work that out.
OMG i deff want to see this…Family guy is great…
There's a reason why Fox ALWAYS has that disclaimer before each episode airs: "Viewer discretion advised". If you are so easily offended, and you know a certain episode is coming on that you are offended by, CHANGE THE FUCKIN' CHANNEL! Family Guy isn't for everybody, true, but ppl that are offended by the show in the first place probably have never watched it from the beginning and should watch an episode or two to make an honest opinion. I'm a huge fan of the show and let my girls watch it but monitor what they watch and will change the channel if a certain segment or episode is too adult for them to watch. THAT'S WHAT A GOOD PARENT DOES! And my girls are well-behaved and don't act out what they see on the show. As for Fox not airing this episode, that's the second time they've done it; remember the "I need a Jew" episode that never aired on Fox cuz it "might offend the Jews". BS, as far as I'm concerned. I say let the abortion episode air, and if ppl were offended by it, DON'T WATCH!!!
omg they should just put it on the air!! i mean seriously it couldnt be as bad as when stewie ate horse semen hahaa the show is amazingand it's good that they dont hold back so Fox should jsut play it and deal with it!!
Re: imsoregistered – That does sound pretty aweful but I think generally, people need to remember WHY he makes such controversial episodes: when he ridicules such topics, it's most likely NOT because he thinks it's RIGHT but to show the EXTREME and to SHOCK people. I mean, it surely got everybody's attention and people talking about it, right? Now without having seen the episode, that's all just speculation but I've been a huge fan of Family Guy and MacFarlane's take on society for years, and that's just how I interpret the show as a whole. That's why I probably don't get offended as easily. He doesn't write anything without a PURPOSE or MESSAGE, and most interestingly CRITICISM. And that's why we LOVE YOU SETH!!! You're BRILLIANT. Maybe a little whacky but who isn't???
Hell YES!!! its family guy, the best cartooon show ever and they never go too far what you pussies talking about? geez
Re: Rockettgirl2000 – 100% AGREED! Thanks for proving that you don't have to CENSOR and forbid EVERYTHING in order to be a GOOD PARENT! Sheltering your kids will only have the opposite of the desired effect. I intend to do the SAME with my future kids. It's more work to be selective than to just say no to everything but hey, I think my kids are going to be worth the minimal extra effort!!!
On South Park they can show Christopher Reeve snapping a fetus in half and drinking its innards, but they can't show this Family Guy? That's total BS.
No I wouldn't. Abortion is just too touchy.
yeah! hell yeah IT;s FAMILY GUY!!!!
@SItrn6xx
Bruno is movie…Family Guy is tv.
if u dont get what makes that different then thats why u dont get it.
IMHO Family Guy is about the most annoying show out there. Their voices irritate me even more than Fran Drescher's and I know nothing is off-topic for them, but any show that makes fun of the suffering of innocent people (or animals) but especially babies, is sick and just shows how insanely disturbed this guy is. I'm no prude and I find a lot of things pretty funny but torture and dismemberment of children is just not funny. Irritating plus sick = I will not be watching it because I have more to do with my life. I have never found the show funny, though when it started Stewie seemed mildly entertaining but it's just getting old. Enough already. Get it off the air. Do something better. Please. It's about time.
lmao um.. so the shitty station doesnt want to play the hilarious but offensive show…..
wow……
but everywhere they have movies like bruno…. DUMB ASS!!!
Re: hotasurban – There has never been anything more controversial than murdering a live full term baby, I didn't care for Prom Night Dumpster Baby either. I believe in choice before 20 weeks, but really… there IS a line. You don't laugh at scissors being jammed in a newborn's head. PERIOD.
Re: MinaDiva – Totally agree. It's odd how they won't show some of the episodes but Robot Chicken and Squidbillies and Boondocks is cool? Not saying I agree with either way, but maybe it's because some of the time, Family Guy is on directly after kids programming ends? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.
Re: VickyV – I understand your point as well. But there's something to consider is a boundary. I'm very hard to offend. My husband is unoffendable (not really a word, but you get the idea) - until this season of Family Guy. That actually surprised me a bit. This is a guy that thinks ATHF, Robot Chicken, etc. is hilarious. He's the one who introduced me to the show several years ago. But there's a couple times this season even his jaw dropped. Of course, not enough to write the FCC (insert joke here), but no matter what the conversation, there's just simply some lines you do not cross. I mean, if he made a joke episode about Obama being shot down, it's okay because it's all in jest right? Ask the Secret Service how funny they will think it is.
ubeturass
I couldn't give a shit less about Family Guy but THEY SHOULD SHOW IT!!! What? Abortions happen.
Re: Kelly Cullen – So does murder but I really doubt we should go around pointing and laughing at victims…
