Now that Jon Gosselin has got his swanky bachelor pad in New York City, it was time for Kate Gosselin to decide where she would reside when Jon gets his turn at their Pennsylvania house with the kiddies.
She has chosen to buy a condo in a wealthy neighborhood in Rockville, Maryland.
As a side-note, Kate's bodyguard and rumored lover Steve Neild also lives in Maryland.
Maybe he helped her pick the place out?
That seems a little far to go from the kids, but perhaps it isn't them she wants the distance from. Besides, at the rate Jon is going, she isn't going to spend that much time in her condo anyway. She'll be much needed at home!

I've been a supporter of Kate from the beginning and will continue to do so. Jon is too much of a child. I cringe at the thought of him taking care of all those kids. I'm sure they'll have nannies around, but still. It's a scary thought.

About Rockville: there are some high-end condos that have gone up, with more being built and they have lots of amenities. So I think Kate made a good choice. Bethesda is too expensive for the plebes and wannabe rich folk to live in, and it's really beautiful. She obviously makes better life choices than her soon-to-be-ex. BTW - lots of spas and up-scale salons around that area.

I saw Kate at lunch with another LADY, not the bodyguard, one day. It may have been a friend or her realtor. I love Rockville. It is a town with a very highly educated population. Cafes have organic food and kosher foods. HEALTHY, quite, lifestyle. I think Kate will fit in well when she is resting while Jon is at the house. Her investment there is much wiser than stupid Jon renting in Manhattan.
Rockville Town Center! I love it. I live 5 minutes away in Potomac. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for her crazy hair whenever I have dinner there….

I go to Rockville Town Square almost every week and the environment is just right for me. Bethesda is nice and all but it gets too crowded and parking and traffic sucks.

Why do they have to choose places that are hours away? Wouldn't they want to be close to their kids in case of emergency? If your kid's appendix is bursting you don't want to be hours away, you want to be minutes away.
Kate has earned money apart from her kids. She's written books and she goes on speaking engagments. Just because she talks about the kids doesn't mean it's their money. The kids should get money from the show and I'm sure Kate will make sure they do.

Rockville is not a crappy area. It's not Bethesda or Potomac, but I don't get how people can say that. I would say some parts of PG County are kind of gross, and maybe Wheaton. Rockville is just an average suburb. And Rockville Town Center has a kickass library! Except I don't like having to pay for parking there…..
Okkkay, Kate is living in the Palladian building in Rockville Town Square. Rockville is an ordinary family-oriented suburb of DC. Bethesda, Potomac, and Chevy Chase are certainly the most desirable neighborhoods in Montgomery Co but hey, not everyone can afford to live there…esp. people with 8 kids! She's about 6 metro stops northwest of DC on the red line.

My house there (where i rent out the rooms individually, not the whole unit as one) is average, and in a lame neighborhood that wouldn't really be considered wealthy even though the property there is pretty expensive (not all of it). Some parts are very posh, but yeah, that's mostly where the condos are. Acutally, Rockville is really ugly and is one main road (Rockville Pike) full of shopping centers. I came from the inner city and the first time I went to Rville, I said, "Wow, it's like an adult playground!" (b/c of all the shopping). Kate sucks.
