Wanda Sykes and her wifey Alex (yes, they're legally married in California) were out and about in Studio City with their twins Olivia and Lucas yesterday.

They even brought the family dog!

What a happy-looking family!

I have a question for same sex couples, as opposed to different sex couples (lol). I am a supporter of human rights on all fronts; I march with the best of them! Ok, here's my question: How come same sex couples don't hold hands in public? I think it would help demystify and eventually help "normalize" same sex relationships if it were seen more. As a heterosexual female, I'll be honest and say it is "different" to see two men holding hands, but that's something that I have to deal with and society as well. I know the obvious reason might be because of societal ignorance, intolerance, and fear of not knowing how some may respond to that, but is that the only reason? I'm curious…

    21. 21

She's married to a white lady?

    22. 22

I love Wanda! When Jay Leno was leaving, she was a guest and was talking about Alex and stuff. I'm glad she's happy!

    23. 23

wow I never knew she was gay

It's so awesome to see the couple out with their babies and the dog too!

    27. 27

They do look like a lovely family. I didn't know she was gay though.

    28. 28

I am always amazed at how RACIST black people are and white people, except me, are too afraid to call them on it! Shame on all you whities and shame on you:TV Dinner!! You are true EVIL in America!!!! Go back to black land - we don't need your ignorance and racism here!!!!

    29. 29

Re: boogie10 – Hi Boogie, The term racism and/or racist is inextricably linked to historical and social oppression. Racism is about societal institutions and societal forces that perpetuate the status quo. Your life experience as a non person of color is completely different than that of a person of color. A very simple example of how mindsets are formed, when you go to the dentist office, there are magazines that reflect who you're your racial identity (perceived or otherwise). I'm sure you've never even thought about that because you expect that. Imagine for just a moment that every communal place you went to, dentist, doctors, grocery store, etc. that all the magazines had Black faces on them and sometimes by chance there was one that had a White face on it. Years of this teaches you something about the society you live in. You may learn that you're different, dismissed, not the norm, etc. Your mindset would be shaped by these experiences.

    30. 30

Because you have been taught and understand racism as a person who belongs to the dominant culture (I'm assuming you're White), when a person of color makes a statement (I'm assuming it was a person of color) such as the one you replied to, you think, "No, not fair! We have to treat everyone the same and ignore color! People of color must play by the same rules! Not fair!!!" Which is fine, that's how a person who lives in a culture that doesn't objectively teach about race, ethnicity, historical oppression, and privilege would respond. However, it's not that simple.

    31. 31

When Black people make such statements, they are speaking in code as a person who has been conditioned in a society that sends societal forces and messages to inform them that they are not the "norm". That code is really only decipherable by another person of color. To Whites it sounds "racist" because of your life experience and your social conditioning. Now, I'm not saying Blacks should be able to say anything and use what I'm saying as a defense. Words like ignorant, dumb, inappropriate would be more accurate to use for certain comments. I think most people are ready for a more progressive America. Some Whites are fed up that "Blacks" get away with things that they could never get away with. The problem is the dominant culture will never understand the social conditioning of a person of color, further, Whites always use their life experience as a point of reference for understanding everyone else's experience…oh, this is too complicated to explain here, so much more, but I'm tired. Anyhow, I appreciate people like you. I just think we need to do a better job of understanding race and ethnicity.

    32. 32

I didn't know she was married…or gay. How could I have been so blind? lol Congrats to the Happy Couple!!!

    33. 33

      Shit that is cute! :)

    34. 34

Did she go and get herself a white girl too?? Damn shame, love yourselves black hollywood!

    35. 35

Wow…those kids have no chance of being normal.

    36. 36

Wow, never even knew she was gay.

    37. 37

Re: mlizaa – What?? Why is it that someone who dates outside their own race a sellout?? Absolutely retarded thing to say.

    38. 38

      Re: nbalowe
I know I was shocked too when I found out but like i've said in the past my gaydar needs a tune up.

    39. 39

Re: MarleyRai – You're VERY inelligent. Thank you fro expressing something that other people of color have a hard time expressing or are too damn cowardly to say anything at all. It amazes me how many apparent black's I see on here commenting on Perez's sometimes VERY biased site but have absolutely NOTHING to say to defend their asses when some hateful racist bastard has something ignorant to say. I for one will ALWAYS defend my people for what is right b/c I am not afraid and I don't care about the backlash I could possibly recieve. Thank you darling for also, being one of the FEW standout 'black folk's' who have the courage and intelligence to be honest. God bless.

    40. 40

      Lucky for her!

    41. 41

      Cute!! I love Wanda!!

    42. 42

Re: JohnnyD – And I'm sure she's all broken up over it. You may now go back to eating your own shit, asshole!

    43. 43

Re: Perez Is A B*tch – Yeah, normal like…you? Laughable, at best!!

    44. 44

Re: Perez Is A B*tch – you clearly have normal life seeing as how you're on this site. go feed you fucking cats you asshole

    45. 45

      SO CUTE

    46. 46

Re: Perez Is A B*tch – I AGREE! FUCK ALL YA'LL MUTHERFUCKERS WHO DISAGREE WITH THIS PERSON! HA HA! DAFFODIL BITCHES!

    47. 47

figures she had to like a white woman and not a black woman. if she was straight, she would've been with a white man. anyway, i date white too. just saying it's very predictable of most successful black people to always marry or date a non-black person.

    48. 48

i know i'll get crucified for this but i could care less! fuck ya'll megan fox loving bitches! u dont pay my bills!
unfortunately wanda looks like the nanny walking with her white employer. they don't like a couple in this pic for some reason……

    49. 49

Hey Perez … didn't you know marriage is between a man and a woman?

    50. 50

Re: nbalowe – i know i didnt think that for a while either, but i guess she is

    51. 51

Wait… , what!?! Lol. I had no idea homegirl was gaaaay! Haha, didn't she always have funny come-ons to the dudes on her show?? lol.. Oh well, weird. She seems like a lesbo though, now that I put it all together. I LOVE WANDA, either way, I could give a fuck who she sleeps with! Wanda's awesome, and she from my city - D.C.!!!

    52. 52

Re: MarleyRai – I totally agree with your long posts about race and racism in America. It's true. Often times I find myself having convos with my boyfriend (who is black, I'm mostly Persian but mixed w/ everything) and he says things like, "Yeah, the TV producer made sure he had at least one black person in that shot! That's to keep from lookin racist." But I'm always like, "Well, there are just more white people than black people in America, you don't see any Persians / mixed girls on the show, because there are hardly any of us!" You know what I mean??? There's just more white people than the rest of us, and to me, that's why things are the way they are. But I def. agree with you tho. Also, who says gays don't hold hands? They do! I see it sometimes. Now if I could get my man to do it… ;-)

    53. 53

If I want to hear creeps and cretins put down a wonderful person and her family because they are homophobes and racist retards - THIS IS THE PLACE TO FIND THEM. Haters, you poor, poor morons. You are missing the life God has given you to be beautiful and you fill that space with your ugliness. Poor schmucks!

      Love ya Wanda!

    54. 54

      Ew. :(

    55. 55

I LOVE Wanda! Congratulations! She deserves to be happy and I'm glad she is!

    56. 56

      Re: MarleyRai

IF THIS PICTURE IS OF YOU-
YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW WHAT
      HUMAN RIGHTS ARE FOR
NOT FOR WHAT PEOPLE DO IN BED !!!!!

    66. 66

Re: MarleyRai – I know my gay friends are afraid to be openly affectionate because of the risk of assault. I know folks who have been attacked physically and seriously injured. Sad world of bigotry.

    67. 67

tank top flip flop mom doesn't look happy.

I wish people (all people) would adopt rather than gestate. Roger Federer just had twins. sigh. Sarah Jessica Parker had to create more babies.

and so it goes. kate and jon actually get paid for their procreative sins.

    68. 68

      Ugh…
Anyone who is "grossed out" by this or is homophobic enough to be freaked out needs to take a basic human sexuality and anthropology course and grow the f*@k up!

    69. 69

Re: BOOMBOOMPOWrez – Thanks for your response, however, I'm one of many, not one of a few, lol. Here's what happens, Society and too many Blacks have used the "hood culture" to represent or speak on behalf of all Blacks. Even some Black kids who aren't raised in the hood take on hood codes because they believe that's what Blackness is. Blackness has always been about collectiveness, progress, intellectualism, strength, preservation, and spirituality. This "hood culture" message is profitable and has promoted ignorance and materialism. Blacks are just as diverse as the next racial/ethnic group. Imagine if all Whites were represented by the "trailer park" culture. Whites are diverse with many different socioeconomic and education levels. Well, so are Blacks. It's just that our "trailer park" subgroup is used to represent all of us, which makes people think that there are only few "stand out" Blacks, the truth is there are MANY!!!!

Re: MinaDiva – Lol, yeah, it was long, lol. Well, I live in Los Angeles, and I really don't see gays holding hands outside of the predominantly gay areas and this is LA!!!!!!! (or maybe I just don't get out enough, lol) Good luck with your man!!

    71. 71

Re: Amazed1 – Yes, sad world. I'd like to live in a society where everyone can freely be who they are, without inflicting harm unto others of course. I really want a better world with better people. I know that sounds hallmarkish, but that's truly what I want.

    72. 72

Re: PLEZZZ – I have no idea what you're getting at. Yes, I'm a Black woman. And, yes, I understand that "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood/ (sisterhood)." I don't believe in reducing same sex couples and marriage rights to what people do in bed. Marriage rights is about families, love, commitment, economics, and legal decisions that all couples should be granted. As Martin Luther King Jr. once stated, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." So yes, this BlACK woman sees marriage equality as a human rights issue.

    73. 73

wanda's funny, but i don't support gay marriage

    74. 74

This is awesome! I wonder if she was artificially inseminated with a black mans sperm? I didn't know her girlfriend was white. I think that would be awesome if the children are biracial! I love Wanda!

    75. 75

      Fabulous.

Another Two lesbians who's only need for a man is to ejaculate in to a cup.

Nice that the gays of today have no need for a MOTHER & FATHER!

Hey Lesibians - your selfish, cruel, and are disgusting for dragging some poor kid into your sickness cause “you want a kid” - how about you both get your heads examined?

Wanda? I'll never support a single thing you do - you HATER. Save up lots of your $$$ cause your invitro offspring are going to need therapy.

    76. 76

Re: JohnnyD – well that is your prerogative. I guess you are just very insecure with yourself

    77. 77

Re: JohnnyD – Why can't you watch her anymore? She is a funny lady and this shouldn't change just because she is openly gay and in a loving relationship….
      Grow up!!!

    78. 78

Re: kissmyassobama – Why disgusting? What are you basing this on?
      Gay does not equal disgusting!!!
