NOT in my area. Jobs are gone left and right. My husband has been on part time hours since Christmas. A major MAJOR employer in our city is leaving - and taking thousands of jobs with it. So, Obama can kiss my butt - recovery my arse.

I am going to prey for the best! Let's just wait and see.

Well, I looked in my wallet, and it doesnt look like things are looking up yet. So many people have lost their jobs, what are they supposed to do. I dont know about anywhere else, but there are no jobs in Florida. So dont come looking, you will only be disappointed

Sad to say, but did we really think the economy would turn around and heal in 6 or 7 months?
It took years to slide down where America is now .. it will take time to climb out.
Totally unrealistic to think recovery would be a quick fix.

If things are getting better, then why is Obama hiding the midsummer budget update? This is normally released in mid-July, but the Obama administration is keeping it under wraps until next month. With Obama's tanking poll numbers, they wouldn't be hiding it if the news were good.

The job losses are also now equal to the net job gains over the previous nine years, making this the only recession since the Great Depression to wipe out all job growth from the previous expansion."

From February through June, 2.64 million jobs were lost. We were supposed to be gaining jobs during that time, having spent $787 billion to "stimulate the economy" and create new jobs.

In January, Obama's chief economic adviser, Larry Summers, said that the economy would start improving "within weeks" if we passed the stimulus. The American people opposed this theft of our hard-earned money, as we know the government doesn't create wealth - the people do. We knew this money would be wasted, and we were right.

yeah but ppl need to advocate for their right to choose their energy source. we are having this problem right now with small scale wind power(Not Industrial!!!), the merchandise I work with is American Made but most towns wont allow a structure over 35 feet, thus crashing contracts with consumers because ppl hate to fight for their right to put up a small wind turbine. local govts dont allow them, how does one allocate these funds & create stable green jobs?? the real war is with local govts and ignorance/denial is the weapon of mass destruction. You wouldnt believe the rude, crass behavior of some council I have to deal with : (
and to rid themselves of this so called addiction to be so painful due to bureaucracy -red tape its ridiculous -such an unnecessary evil. corrupt old industrial developers near me get farther than I do (& Ive been at it for 16months now..) because of this inability to get used to things 'above the table'. I even wrote the bylaw for them to adopt!! is any1 famous interesting in advocating for warless, domestic small scale renewables??? because the unfortunate truth is that 'stars in their eyes' is what it takes in America to push pro actively for something you believe in
