Songwriter Responds To Kelly Clarkson's Song Recycling Accusations!!!

This blew up fast!
Kelly Clarkson accused songwriter Ryan Tedder of reusing aspects of Beyonce's track Halo for Kelly's new single, Already Gone.
Well, Ryan took to his official blog yesterday to clear the air.
He wrote:
Hey everyone, Ryan here. So…..i’m in Europe on vacation with my wife yesterday when I get a flurry of emails with links to gossip sites and media outlets saying “Kelly clarkson throws producer Ryan Tedder under the bus re: Already Gone” etc etc etc… Alleging that I copied myself or “pulled a fast one” on Kelly Clarkson. This couldn’t be farther from the truth and the whole thing is absurd….however, I need to actually read what the hell is going on, make a call or 2, and be fully informed of it, then I assure you I will have a proper, respectful response. I don’t take allegations of this nature lightly- ESPECIALLY when it’s in regards to artists I respect and admire. Nor do I let things like this go unaddressed. So, give me a minute, and I’ll tell u whatsup and what really happened, or in this case, “didn’t” happen.

I think the songs start of the same, but turn out to be 2 different songs. With everything going on in the world, are we really worried about 2 songs that may sound the same? I don't care, love Halo, and i like kelly's too, they're just songs!!!

Already Gone was written first! He used aspects of Kelly's song to write Halo. That's why she is so upset, because he screwed her over.

I love Kelly, always have and always will….but she needs to just be careful what she says. Her words get her into trouble. I understand she's trying to "speak her mind" and "tell everyone what she feels" but it gets to a point she's causing her own contraversy! All she should have said was, "Yeah, Halo sounds similar to Already Gone…..it's the same producer, but I like to do an acoustic version, too…" Take it in a positive spin, don't bad mouth people!
I love both ladies! Nothing will ever change that! So what if he used the same song. Sounds different. Big deal!

Reread story, kelly recorded hers first but Beyonce's was release first.
He deleted it after he issued a formal press release. Apparently this post was just a bridge to address the issue before he could figure out what was going on . . . and figuring it out had a lot more to do with figuring out what Kelly was saying and why vs any concerns with the track.
Seriously - every pop song sounds similar, anyway. And anyone listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers? They've been recording the same 3 songs with different lyrics for 15 years!
