"The first annual T.E.A.L. walk will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park during National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
The proceeds from this year’s event will benefit The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund; the leading independent agency dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research in the United States. Since 1998, OCRF has awarded over $28 million in grants to 128 of the brightest women and men in the field today at over 40 leading medical centers across the country.
T.E.A.L. Walk is a non-competitive 5K event. Participants include survivors, caregivers, families, and friends coming together to raise awareness of, and promote a cure for ovarian cancer."

In Canada, the Winners Walk of Hope raises money for the work that Ovarian Cancer Canada does, including research, awareness, education and support for patients. It's a fun, family-friendly non-competitive 5K walk.

It's a terrific cause. I was diagnosed when I was 27 but was one of the lucky ones and it was found early. Most women are not so lucky.
