"Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.Children up to the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment at no financial obligation to patients or families. "

shriners = masons = racists = devil worshipers and their ancient rituals are based on fiction… yeah give the shriners money
That little boys has a nose like Michael Jackson. Wonder what Joe Jackson will say…
How much did you fork over Mario?
This organization is compiled of individuals who devote their life to helps hurt children. Last year My Son was injured with third degree friction burns. After seeking the care of several local surgeons with no promising results I turned to the Shriners. They flew me and my Son to Cincinnati from Florida to have reconstructive surgery. They gave me (a single mother) every resource to help me thru that difficult time. They are extremely selfless and caring. Shame on you JigSaw for dissing people who actually save others lives…. FOR FREE!!!!!!! Can you say that about yourself?
Re: luv bug – first of all my comment was directed at the shriners, which btw everything i said was true. the hospital is the one who took care of your son, not the shriners. ever see a man in a little hat in the hospital?
And since you know so much about me, you would know that i volunteer in the community and yes I do save lifes FOR FREE!!!!!!!
don't ever say anything bad about Shriners. You think those men come to the hospital wearing the Fez…prick. My father spent 100's of hours entertaining children at Shriners hospitals…getting children and their familes to buses, planes and trains to send them off for treatment.
JIGSAW- you are the racist. Yes Give money to Shriners hospitals, they help children all over the world!
Well I'm glad you participate in community service. That is something you should be proud of. This is just a very sensitive subject for me because I venerate these individuals so much! Oh and yes the men in the hats picked us up from the airport and drove to the hospital where the surgeon They pay operated on my son. Also, I rode with one of them who flew one boy on his personal plane because the boy was so badly disfigured from burns he was afraid to go in public.
These hospitas are in danger of closing and are in dire need of support and funding. I commend you Perez for bringing this to light and hope that the situation will turn around for these amazing hpspitals that really do save lives!
Re: momofan – here is a little clue for you, how do you think i know? ever think i had a family member in that organization?
and where did i say not to give the hospital any $$$$ i said the shriners. and im a prick and a racist…. right
Re: luv bug – my comment was totally blown out of proportion, i will never ever give the masons, shriners or any offshoot of them any money, hospitals are a different story
JigSaw—the Shriners hospital is run by….wait for it….SHRINERS, hence the name! All of the money that Shriners make in community events goes to burned & crippled children who can't afford care. Have you ever known a Shriner? Ever been to a Shrine event? They are selfless people who just want to help & it's a great outlet. My boyfriend when I was 17 came down with bacterial meningitis on Christmas Eve, by Christmas Day he was already losing his fingertips. A local Shrine clown got in touch with him & paid to have him flown to the hospital in Indianapolis where he received care for FREE for over a year. He ended up losing 1 arm, 8 finger and one leg below the knee and if it wasn't for the Shriners he would've died. He couldn't afford care. So please be careful with your words—if you turn people away from the Shriners they might miss out on a great resource in the community!
Re: BabyLuv – That baby had a cleft palate, kinda rude don't you think!
My father has been a Shriner for forty years. That 40 years has not been cheap for him-he drives a midget car-the Shriners pay all expenses for what they do out of their pocket and all money made goes to the hospitals. Last week I watched my "racist" Shriner dad walk up to a mom whose daughter has cerebral palsy and gave her the paperwork to fill out for her daughter to get help for free. He and another Shriner guaranteed this mom her daughter will get help and they stay good to their promises.
JigSaw unless you are a Shriner there is no way you can call them racists. Yes they had a big hand in the starting of this country and everything that they did was not always the way things should be done. But 200 some years later things change.
Understand there is no way you can separate the Shriners from the Shriners hospital-they do not exist without the other.
Re: kateschmate – Re: midwest girl – ok, again this is out of control, yes i have been to events, hospitals and yes i know a lot of shriners. there are good shriners however the shriners i know do nothing with the hospitals many are members of another organization (the klan). maybe my experience is not typical, however this is what I know, i appreciate your views but now you know a little more of what I am talking about.
Oh, but yet our health care system sucks and doesn't help the needy? Thank God for hospitals that do this kind of work. Thank god for the RICH people who give to such charities. If Obama gets his way these type hospitals will suffer greatly.
Re: JigSaw –
Dear JigSaw,
The Shriners saved my son's life by offering cutting edge medical care that other's hospitals would not. They have not charged me a dime for it although I have great insurance. It has been the best medical experience of my life. I don't know what your deal is, but this organization is doing incredible work every day to permanently change the lives of countless children. Your ignorance is sad. Why not go after the Easter Bunny and Mother Teresa while you're at it?
I would encourage anyone reading these posts to donate generously to this amazing organization. They are saving the lives of innocent, precious children every day.
The Shriners Hospitals are saving my 2 year old son's spine and life at this very moment. We have excellent health insurance and could go ANYWHERE, but we are getting him the BEST health care in the WORLD for his severe case of progressive infantile scoliosis. Dr. Jacques D'Astous, who is treating my son, is a brilliant doctor who makes decisions based on the BEST care for the child, regardless of cost! The Shriners are truly saints to children in need. My son could've DIED before age 3 because of his spine crushing his heart and lungs, and Shriners will CURE him, using non-surgical Mehta Method casts. Our only other option would have been multiple surgeries, with a 100 PERCENT COMPLICATION RATE. Thank God for the Shriners and what they have been doing FOR FREE since 1922. If you stepped foot in one of those hospitals you would see children with state-of-the-art titanium prosthetic legs and they are not charged ONE PENNY for the chance to WALK again! They don't even charge your insurance! Please donate! You can read my son's story right now on www.breezymama.com right now.

Re: Nick Guthe – when i was dating someone, i was encouraged to join the masons since their entire family was involved. i did and went through all of the stuff, i was also enouraged to join the shriners since many of the masons were. this is when i started to find out about the rituals being demonic and the other organizations they supported (i found it so hard to believe at first everyone was white).
all of the crap i saw, everything i experienced support my comments. As for the easter bunny and Mother Theresa, they have done nothing wrong. maybe my experience was not typical, but it is true

OOPS!! I accidentally posted 3 times because I thought it wasn't posting because my comment was too long. Well, I just wanted to add that the men in the red hats do come to the hospitals, they are usually donating their time doing things like driving sick children to and from the airport. What Shriners hospitals do is truly what healthcare SHOULD be!!!
Shriner's Hospitals have helped my son tremedously. My son has Progressive Infantile Scoliosis and the Shriner's hospitals are some of the few hospitals in the entire country that are able to treat him. They have given us top-notch care for FREE. Thanks Perez for listing Shriner's Hospitals as a worthwhile cause…they definately are!
Jigsaw,
I am a 36 year old Freemason and a Shriner in the state and city of New York. I can assure you that your views on both are very inaccurate. If you ever want to go on a tour of the Grand Lodge building on 6th Avenue and 23rd street in Manhattan, feel free to come on by for a tour. The building is open to the public.
Also, you did not go “through all the stuff”. It takes at least a year to become a Freemason. You start out as Entered Apprentice, then Fellow Craft and then Master Mason. You can only become a Shriner once you are a Master Mason. All of this information is readily available.
New York Freemason
Am I the only one who thinks that Little boy looks like Collin from Jon and Kate ?
Re: New York Freemason – I do respect your views and your response. I made master mason in about 6-7 weeks, not a year. i have stressed the fact several times that maybe my experience was not normal and if what you are saying is true than the lodge was not either.
You are aware that the rituals are not based on any fact, there were no masons at the building of king solomons temple as they claim in the rituals.
if you think i am making anything up, then try this from a little blue book, 'will you be off or from' or 'having my neck slit ear to ear' and something about my guts being spread out for the animals…
Re: JigSaw –
What was the name and number of your Lodge? What Grand Lodge?
You were not made a Master Mason after 6 weeks or whatever.
If you were that Lodge needs a lot of work.
Also in regard to any degree work it is all SYMBOLIC.
And there are a million sources saying just that.
It sounds as if you go to a lot of crazy web sites and are up on all your conspiracies.
Do you believe that reptilian humanoids run the world as well?
Re: New York Freemason – Sorry no personal info. I respected your opinion and views and then i get sarcasm from you. as for the crazy website, it was the discovery or history channel, plays every few months, you should go watch.
Have a nice day!
Re: JigSaw –
As a matter of fact I did watch the History Channel’s show about it. The first half was all insinuation and the second half was all de-bunking insinuation. Perhaps you should have ingested the information in its entirety.
Secondly in regard to your previous statement about Masons being at King Soloman’s temple, well that is called allegory. It isn’t that there were or were not Masons there, it is the lesson taught which is important. If you were a real Freemason you would understand this point more than anything. That point is to do right always and stand up for what you believe in, even at you own peril. This is the most basic tenant of Masonry. Ergo the Shriners, who do right for those who can not help themselves.
My Shrine (personal information that I am very proud of) is Mecca. We were the very first Shrine and we started in New York City by William Florence and Walter Flemming in 1872 at the Knickerbocker Club. Look for our website. Google, Mecca Shriners. You will find our address and all of our information which is public. In fact if anyone on here needs assistance with a child in New York City, feel free to get in touch with us as well.
Get this book.
Freemasonry For Dummies by Chris Hodapp
It is great and gives the basics about it all.
Have a great day!
And thank you Perez Hilton for putting this link to the Shriner’s Hospitals up. We need all the help that we can get in these tough times of cut backs.
Re: New York Freemason – what is that word i should be saying when i am raising and lowering my arms….. mahabone or boneshelev (excuse the spelling)…
Re: New York Freemason – Thanks for the info regarding your shrine and proving one of my points. Every picture you have on the site is of only white men. Wait let me guess, that was an accident, you have your token quota. You got an excuse for everything else!
Jigsaw is not a Mason. He's just claiming that because he's been addled by reading a few too many Chick tracts. He is puling all of his claims straight from the laughably inaccurate anti-Masonic rhetoric fundies like to scare people with.
Masons aren't any different than any college fraternity (minus the beer - no alcohol in a Masonic lodge). They pretend that their roots go back to antiquity instead of just the few hundred years they're really existed, but it's still just a fraternity. They're not the Stonecutters, for fuck's sake.
Shriners Hospitals are the real deal. They make sure that the money you donate goes to helping kids instead of on bureaucracy or overhead. They never turn any child away, regardless of race, religion, ideology or anything else. Any of their hospitals is a very worthwhile place to donate your money.
=)
Re: Cass – you are correct i am not, i quit when i found out what they were all about….
the little girl looks like michael jackson's daughter
I am a shriner's supporter, i was born with a disability and they sponsored me and helped with my prosthetics, please donate!
