Brace yourself Ugly Betty fans. There's a big change coming this season!
The execs behind Betty have finally decided to give America Ferrera's character a real makeover!
And they're taking their job pretty seriously.
According to reports, ABC has already held focus groups to get viewer opinions on Betty's new look. And there's two to choose from.
The focus groups are watching clips from early in the season ,which feature Betty in her new role as Mode's associate features editor. And the test audiences have to choose if they like Betty in a short-sleeved black dress or a Chanel-looking pink suit.
They also need to comment on her new hair, the better makeup, and no more crazy eyebrows. And, of course, opinions on her infamous braces being removed or not.
One of the focus group members commented that “She looks a lot classier, but she’s still far from perfect.”
What do U think? Is it too soon to give Betty a makeover or about time?

Its about time… I mean a person can have braces for only so long. I just hope the story continues interesting and doesn´t lose it essence.
the show has bee on how long?…a few seasons, so yeah, its about time they gave her a makeover….but i hope they dont over do it.

OK, I think they should keep the traditional method…for those of you who don't know BEtty LA Fea (the original version) was so cool cuz she gets to the top (actually becomes the boss and the guy falling for her) being ugly and THEN, unlike any other movie that gets beautiful after a make over, she evolves like any one of us will do it, first she get contacts, then she fixs her hair, then she starts dressing better, etc, etc, so it's real ya know….I loved that about it, it was not a all hollywood make over…go colombian version! (ps: the mexican one sucked! but I loved the guy in it he was very funny)

UGLY BETTY IS COMING TO AN END. IN THE NOVELA/SOAP OPERA, ONCE BETTY GETS THE MAKE OVER, SHE ENDS UP RUNNING THE COMPANY, DANIEL FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER, BLAH BLAH, AND THEN THE SHOW ENDS AFTER ALL THAT DRAMA. UGLY BETTY WAS GOOD; THE FIRST 2 SEASONS, NOW, ITS EH. I STILL LIKE AMERICA.

I just can't look at American Ferrera and see ugly i never thought that even thought that's what they want us to think… Behind the braces the glasses and the bushy wig i Still see pretty… The should take out the braces though and make her more feisty…

I think so!! no one has braces forever!! not to mention im catching up on Ugly betty and im only on season 1 and its time! its highly unlikely that a person looking like her looking the way she does working at a fashion magazine wouldnt have changed something by now! i think if they remove the braces and do maybe no bangs with just straight hair that would be good for now..her make over can be subtle and get better over time but keep the glasses!

In the orignal serie Betty slowly transformed form ugly duckling into a beautifull swan… so yeah, it's time for a makeover….. hope they take it step by step though

The best thing about the show is that Betty doesn't really change but everything around her does. No more "ugly", no more Betty. Don't do it!

Hmmm…. I dont think her transformation could meet the shock value that the original Betty produced when she had her transformation. I mean, they didnt really uglify America that much while Ana Maria Orozco really looked like a vulture personified during her ugly days. I just hope they deliver. I sure hope so.

I hate that show - i watched about 3 episodes and thought how completely ridiculous that she wouldn't look better because of where she works - the makeover is LONG overdue! and it better be a REAL makeover!

I'm watching the Original Colombian version of Ugly Betty and this is the week her transformation started. I forgot that her makeover was not drastic, it was phased and subtle untill she had to rejoin her career. I do hope they do so, it could revamp or destroy UB, especially now that it will be on Fridays.
i agree with the very first commentor. It's about time! and i hope UB stays interesting, and focuses on real issues. Stay entertaining, keep bringing all those Celebrities, Adele, again pLease! And Keep up the fight for gay tolerance, equality and Marriage under the Law and Church! mush love you America and Ms. Williams.
They should stay true to the original Ugly Betty as have done all the different countries all over the world. There is a reason why Ugly Better get's her make over and they should stay true to that story if not they will FUCK it up as they always do with everything else hollywood produces!!!!

I think they should do what they've been doing throughout the show, making her look better gradually. If you look at pictures from the first episodes youll see that she used to be even uglier then but, they gradually made her look less ugly i guess

i've never watched this series cause i HATE FUCKING SEMEN HAYEK, PUTA DESGRACIADA. but one thing is for sure, the original soap opera "betty la fea" will always be the best and you can watched on tele futura at 9pm, PERIOD.
She should get the braces off and maybe change the hair, but that's about it. If they de-uglify Betty, it'll lose it's appeal completely.

ok so in the original version: Betty la Fea, she gets a makeover! this novela has been going to every country for many years and the US was the last to adapt it… So yeah its about time, but usually after she gets the makeover the story is pretty much over..
So I guess it depends, I don't think it should be too drastic, maybe they should make suttle changes to keep the show on. everyone loves Betty's charming character as a fea!
