Debbie Rowe Wanted Cashola And Gets It!
As we mentioned earlier, Katherine Jackson and Debbie Rowe have reached a custody agreement over the fate of Michael Jackson's children. Katherine will have custody and Debbie will be allowed visitation.
But while we thought that it was drama free and all done in the children's best interest, it turns out there may have been a little more devil in the details.
Rowe has forgone custody of the children in exchange for spousal support payments which total $4 million overall. According to Rowe (who was left out of Jackson's will), the King of Pop had an arrangement with her in which he paid her $1 million dollars a year. Unfortunately for Rowe, this was a verbal agreement and so she had no physical proof of the agreement.
As a result, Jackson's brothers were incredibly reluctant to adhere to her demands that she continue to be paid and, apparently, Jackson's lawyers even said they had grounds to fight the claim. Ultimately, however, Jackson's mother, Katherine, made the executive decision to give Rowe her money just to put the whole mess to rest and avoid putting the kids through even more of a media circus.
One source said, "they just want to get rid of her. They recognized early in this process that she had no interest in playing a real role in their lives and that it was all about money."
Katherine will remain the children's guardian, and Rowe, in turn, will receive a few hundred thousand dollars a year over a set period of time and be allowed supervised visits.
Apparently, as part of the agreement, the Jackson clan has to say that it wasn't a matter of money for Rowe, even though it was.
It sounds like even though the Jacksons will have to continue paying Rowe, the children ended up with the person who will really look out for them.
All's well that ends well…but Debbie Rowe still sucks.

Well duh. What do you expect? The whole marriage was a sham just so she could pop out some kids for MJ and so he could look legit. Whatever happens about the $, it is peanuts compared th the MJ estate and what the family will be getting over the years, and the kids will ALWAYS be taken care of. They are, Jacksons, after all.

Damn. I really thought there for a while that she just might be a decent person. She brought two desperately wanted children into the world, received her payment and faded into obscurity as arranged. When MJ died, she kept saying that she wasn't a mother and that the children would best with Katherine and that she didn't want more money. And I actually believed her. This makes me very sad. There's not a lot of nice things to say about women anymore, it seems. Except my mother. And yours.

It's a little scary to think of Katherine raising them, it's not like she's got many years ahead of her. I can't imagine her raising a teenage Blanket, she'll be in her early 90's by the time the kids are becoming young adults. After losing my sole parental figure at such a young age, I'd be so terrified of losing her as well. While she may have custody, I really think their guardianship should be with one of Michael's siblings, specifically Rebbie.

It was a business arangement made between Michael and Debbie. She should get paid because that's why she had the kids for him. Everyone knew what was going on. It's not Debbies fault that Michael was bizarre and wanted to buy his kids for an ungodly amount of money. She was promised something in return for her "hand in marriage" and the birth of their children"… so she should get it. They didn't have to earn his money either, at least she did him an actual service.

I believe Michael had this deal, and a deal needs to be honored. Debbie Rowe gave him his children, and that is no small thing. He wanted sole parental rights, and he got them; indeed, he threw money at her to keep them to himself the way he wanted. Katherine has done the right thing here, and the children can start to get to know their birth mom like they should have in the first place. Kids have a great need to know their biological parent no matter what anyone else says about it. This looks like a win/win all around to me, and the kids will have more adults who love them that they can turn to if need be.

I still don't think it's that bad Perez. So she wants to continue the spousal support payment Michael had been paying… that does not automatically mean she wants to be in their lives FOR money. You didn't phrase it correctly, it's not about "supervised visits", there will be a child psychologist, selected and paid by both parties, who will work to encorporate Debbie into their lives on a meaningful basis. (not verbatim)
I think this is the right thing to do; 1. Debbie continues to get spousal support as per her prior deal with MJ. (Can't they prove it by showing money transfers? Didn't one of MJs business people know about the deal - they had to have) and 2. She will be reintroduced into their lives by a trained professional. That will go a long way towards understanding and accepting all the changes in their young lives.

You people are pathetic. Debbie Rowe provided services as basically a surrogate to carry his children (like millions of other surrogates around there). An arrangement was made to pay her for her services - the marriage in name only so the children would be legitimate was just a sham. This is not about whether she cares or doesn't care about the services - this is about fulfillment of a contract. However, she does have a biological tie to the children and as their biological mother she cares that they are raised properly, and that they have minimal contact or supervision by 'Grandpa Joe'. Debbie Rowe had legal rights to the children because MJ didn't get that legally finalized. Debbie will continue to get what MJ agreed to and MJ's estate will continue to get what Debbie agreed to (the children). So the deal continues exactly how MJ and Debbie agreed.

Re: miss ash – Death is a natural part of life, its sad that MJ went too soon and the controversy that surrounds it, BUT whether they're with Katherine at the time of her death or with one of their aunts or uncles, I'm sure her death will be hard on them either way. As for raising the children, I'm sure many with children of their own, as myself, would agree that it takes a family to raise them. I am positive they will have constant interaction with their aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. and as they grow it will be those people who help mold them into fine young adults.
