Ridley Scott To Direct Aliens Prequel!

Twentieth Century Fox is reprising its Aliens franchise with a prequel.

And, Ridley Scott will be returning to direct!

Jon Spaihts - who's credits include Shadow 19 and Passengers - has been tapped to pen the script.

Hopefully it will be worthy of its cinematic predecessors!

A prequel pretty much rules out the return of Sigourney Weaver.

Or does it?????

If it's a prequel there shouldn't be any aliens yet. So what's the movie going to be about?… The aliens franchise is huge. There's a lot of fans, so I doubt it will bomb.

you guys arent remebering Alien too well…sure it can have a prequal. In the begining of Alien they get awakend early because the ship picks up an old distress call and their contract demands they investigate of they dont receive their bonus's….so they check out the ship the call comes from and thats when they spot the eggs and the first "face hugger" appears….they ignore quarentine and thats how it gets on THEIR ship..sooo why couldnt the prequal be about what happened to the crew of the other ship???hmmmmmmm?

Ridley Scott is an outstanding director and one of the top ones out there today. I am sure the movie will be amazing and filled with his creative style.

Yes, a prequel with Sigourney Weaver is totally possible. In the original Alien there is a scene (which I think was cut but the scene is known and I have seen it) where Ripley gets a letter in deep space from her daughter. The photo of the daughter show a woman who looks Sigourney's current age…(with all that deep space travel, Ripley's daughter is older than Ripley). So, PLEASE, PLEASE make the prequel star Sigourney Weaver, as Ripley's daughter.

With Ridley Scott (who also did the epic "Gladiators") attached to this, for sure it will absolutely be a HUGE hit. I also think that this would mean no Sigourney Weaver…She's great but she cannot play a 20 year old…I hope Natalie Portman or Mila Govovich is the main role. As long as it's not: Megan Fox, Scarlette Johannsen, Lindsay Lohan or any of these hollywood types, i'll watch it.Re: Anduin – Um…that's why a creative writer comes in and makes a plausible prequel. It's been done and it's totally do-able…I was a huge fan of the original Aliens movies and will see this when it comes out.
