A New Look For Nick

Nickelodeon decided that it was time to do some rebranding, so the newest logo for the kid-centric channel has been revealed.
No longer will the familiar splat of slime, reminiscent for many of us children of the 80s & 90s, be part of the graphic. Now, the network has gone for a more modernized and generic logo for this and all the sister networks.
President Cyma Zarghami released a statement, saying, "We wanted to clean it up and allow Nick to be the stamp on all of these channels… In asking ourselves if everything could live under the splat, we decided that the splat was dated. It just couldn't be done in a streamlined way."
There goes another childhood memory.

the old logo is only "dated" because Nickelodeon has nothing to do with slime these days. Years ago it was You Can't Do That On Television, Double Dare, Figure It Out and the Slime Geiser at their Orlando studios, but now it's all about creating teen stars to mass merchandise with consumer goods and it's disgusting.

The new logo as it is, is boring…but I am a stubborn child of the 90's, who also frequently laments about the boring shows they have now.
Honestly do kids really care if Nickelodeon has a modern logo?? The splat was childish and fun…if it still works why mess with it?
I miss my childhood. They already took all of the good shows off and now they're taking the splat away. fuck that.
Damn it! The 90s was the best and now Nickelodeon is crap. Remeber Cousin Skeeter, Kenan & Kel, All That (when it was good), and Double Dare 3000? I wanted to be on that! Now all the shows are pretty stupid. On iCarly the laugh track goes on for the dumbest shit! And why do they always mention boobs? This is a kid's channel! Before it was just having fun and being a kid now it's I have a webshow! I'm Vice President! WTF?
I wish they would just make a seperate network, one for the lame new Nickelodeon and one that replayed the old one. I miss 90's Nickelodeon so much!!! Hell, I'd still watch it today

I feel sorry for the kids….back in the 90's Nick was in it's Prime. They have no good classic shows anymore. Who doesn't remember Hey Dude! Are you Afriad of the Dark? Clarissa Explains it all, Double Dare, Rocko's modern life….ohh those were the good days.

All of you who are complaining about the shows that Nickelodeon and Disney air now… hello, you're fucking adults now. Of course you're not going to like the shows as much as the shows you liked when you were a little kid. It's like the people who say Spongebob isn't as good anymore… well yeah it's been running 10 years… if you were 12 when it started, you're 22 now, so I would hope you don't love the show exactly as you did when you were 12. Kids enjoy Disney and Nickelodeon… the shows are not meant for adults. Find some new stuff to watch that is more your age.

Re: PHbalance – The point most are trying to make is that the quality of programming isnt as good. Im 25 and I would totally watch some of those old shows! All those types of channels show now is marathons of iCarly and Hannah Montana. There's no variety anymore.

they should have never searched for a new logo, its totally changing it. Just think if Coca cola changed that cool swirl font for this shit, it wouldnt be the same. It just show's how shallow Nick has gotten. I mean, the only good and legit network I would ever let my kids watch someday now would be boomerang. iCarly is one of the stupidest shows ever, suite life should have ended, sonny with a chance is one of the worst shows ever, Hopefully JONAS will end soon, like hopefully tomorrow. And whats up with turning the mickeymouse characters into something along the lines of Dora?!!
