American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis is letting his diva flag fly high!
Maroulis, who is currently starring in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages, is demanding more $$$$$$ from the producers!
The singer's contract with the musical is up in September, and Constantine believes he "generates 99% of the press for the show" and should be compensated royally!
Oh really???
According to a Rock of Ages insider, the producers believe "anyone can play his part."
Even though the producers have reportedly made an offer, sounds like someone could be out of a job if he's not careful!
Constantine's manager says they are trying to "work it out".

I'm seeing Rock of Ages in a few weeks. I'm not going to lie. I'd like to see him. He's not the only reason I'm seeing it though. I'll be kinda pissed if he's fired before I see it.

Constantine is freakin amazing in this show, does all the press , and is the reason most people come back for a 2nd 3rd and sometimes 10 or more times.
His portrayal of Drew Is Tony Nominated and if anyone deserves a raise its Maroulis!! He is NO DIVA…..and if the producers are smart they will keep their Star LEAD! Whether you liked him on Idol or Not…he RAWKS this show and deserves whatever he might be asking for. He has been with this show since Off/Broadway and Rawked it there too. Go see it…and you will see what I'm talking about.

Believe it or not Constantine is one of the nicest people out there. He does photos and autographs after each and every one of his 9 shows without the look of "I gotta go" like other Broadway stars. His character is played perfectly in the show as well.
They would be crazy yo let him go.
He is totally amazing in this show.
Kup, people go see the show because the music is performed awesomely by everyone in the ENITRE cast. Who gives a crap where you came from or where you were before, you perform it well and people go to see EVERYONE sing.

Here's some free advice for him. The reason people disliked you was not because you were a bad singer but because you were in love with yourself. To win longevity you need to learn to be humble. Better to be humble and loved and have a long career then to be a demanding egotistical jerk. Be in the show for what you agreed and enjoy all the free publicity. People feel good you got a second chance but don't blow it!
