Nicole's Maternity Collection!
Nicole Richie is really branching out!
She's got a jewelry line, she's going to design shoes, and now the stylish mommy has designed a collection for the maternity line, A Pea in the Pod.
Says Richie, "A Pea in the Pod is such a well known company for pregnant women. They carry great lines, and so when they asked me to create a line for them I was really excited and eager to do it."
Nicole is expecting her second child this month, so she really knows what her customer is looking for, adding "You really feel like you have to change your whole wardrobe [when pregnant]. And that's the last thing a woman wants to go through. So I really tried to make this line to get women excited about wearing clothes."
What's more, the clothes are somewhat affordable, with tank tops at $48 and dresses at $148.
Nicole is basically the pin-up girl for boho chic, so you can expect peasant tops, maxi dresses, and braided details all tailored to accentuate a prego woman's body.
Richie's collection hits stores Friday and she adds, "It feels great to see everything come to life. It's the best feeling in the world to have your visions and dreams come together. I'm excited for people to see them. I just hope that people like it."

Wonderful she's doing this….but $48 for a freakin' TANK top is NOT affordable for the real world…it's a waste of money when you can get the same thing for less than 1/2 that price especially dealing with the economy we're in!

a tank at $48 isn't affordable; a tank at $8 is affordable. That being said, yes it is a very cute line, but no more babies for me so I don't have to worry about buying maternity clothes.

affordable? please. when i was pregnant, i just wore all my hubby's clothes and lived in yoga pants. personally, i took it as a 9 month excuse to be able to get away with wearing something similar to pajamas all the time, lol. you don't really get to get away with that all time otherwise.

$48 for a TANK TOP? Who the hell determines this is reasonable? Grab a cheapie pattern from a second hand store and you can make the EXACT SAME DRESS for like $5. 3 pack of tanks from Wal-Mart $7. Or just go straight to a vintage store and buy regular 70's clothes, they fit pregnant bellies already. If anyone is stupid enough to pay $48 for a tank top, a fool and his money… that bottom pic, you can sew two squares together and leave armholes btw.
I am happy that Nicole is focusing her attention on something other than using drugs, but the outfits I am not liking!!
When your are preggers the last thing you want is to look fatter than you are. Most women now days love to show off their bellies, so maybe more form fitting cloths would go over better.

I wore heels the whole time I was preggo. No problems walking so there was no falling.
Cute clothes, but they are pricey considering the short amount of time you wear them. I mean, I didn't need maternity clothes still I was 6-7 months pregnant, which is the case for a lot of women. Even then I still wore a lot of my regular clothes. By the time you're pregnant a second time the clothes from the first time are out of style!

Fab, but it would be cool if it weren't as expensive. Looks like she is officially a designer, her stuff is cool so this means that she won't be like other people (cough-Paris Hilton-cough) who just jump from one venture to the next one (movies, more reality shows, music, endorsements) just to stay in the spotlight and make money. I always like her since the first season of Simple Life, she rocks!
