Octo-Mom Gets Slammed By Gloria Allred
Octo-mom Nadya Suleman is truly a special case. Leave it to Suleman to say the obvious a little too late.
According to Nadya, she claims:
"I think it was a mistake — in terms of the well-being of the octuplets and of my other kids. I can't give myself to them 100 percent… if I'd known that, I never would have fathomed having eight more."
First of all, you have now just admitted that you are incapable of caring for all of your children. Child services is on their way.
Elsewhere, attorney Gloria Allred is fuming about this comment and she really didn't need more ammunition to go after the Octo-Mom.
Gloria legally represents the company that offers Nadya free nanny services and has clearly not dismissed her crusade to save those children from their mother.
Upon hearing Nadya's remarks, Gloria was outraged, saying:
"I think it's very, very sad when any mother calls her child, or in this case, eight little babies, a mistake. How are the babies going to feel when they grow up and read one day, as they will, or view on the Internet, as they will, the fact that their mother calls them a mistake? That is just very, very sad to me as a person who is an advocate for children. Even if she thinks it, the fact that she sad it is very, very troubling because has she considered the impact that would have on the children long-term? That's a question to which I don't have the answer, but I think that many people will agree with me that it's rather disturbing that she would say that."
Yeah, these kids will be messed up for sure.
Maybe they can form an army with the Gosselin kids to protect other children from being thrust into the spotlight!

The octuplets weren't a mistake, how would she of gotten a reality show without them. She got exactly what she wanted…Fame and free money/donations to raise them.
So what! I say it ALL THE TIME. "We wanted just one more, gambled and LOST." is my favorite phrase. Kids are only not mistakes if they can make you rich. My helpers tell me that the kids eat EVERYDAY! Wow. That floors me. I'm so lucky I don't have to interact with my children (except when the cameras are here) and that they have care-givers to give them the love I am incapable of giving.

If she thinks she's having a hard time taking care of 14 pre-schoolers, toddlers and infants, just wait until she has 14 TEENAGERS in her house at one time. Just getting a single child through adolescence is a MAJOR piece of work, dealing with 14 teenagers at one time will absolutely put her in the NUT HOUSE! I speak from experience - if you haven't raised teenagers yet just trust me.
I've heard working moms of two say the same thing. Self admission acknowledges awareness of the situation, and that demonstrates an intent and a willingness to try to handle it all, but whether or not she can by herself is another matter entirely. Having grown up in and around large families, getting parents sole attention was always a feat - all of the kids were fiercely independent, and the older ones did as much parenting as the parents, along with friends, parents of friends, teachers and extended family.
Well, hey Gloria - if you're concerned, befriend her and then give her a hand yourself in your spare time. Every bit helps. It's very easy to hire someone else and then when it doesn't work out between the two other parties for whatever reasons, to criticize. With her show she will be able to hire people that work for her, by HER standards.

I don't interpret this statement as her calling her babies 'a mistake.' She questioned out loud her decision after the fact to have more a mistake. I've heard almost every parent I know say something to this effect at one time or another when they are naturally sometimes overwhelmed out of honesty and sharing.
Self deprecation is not a weakness, it's awareness. That might be difficult for a woman with no children who is a very strong, dedicated business person (and so never lets them see her sweat) to understand. Having kids awakens self doubt, because it's so important how you deal with them, and that weighing of thoughts and decisions makes you a better parent and hopefully leads to thoughtful decisions. Let's hope her show's proceeds help her to remedy the assistance situation.

I can't wait to see the footage of those babies scattering in 8 different directions when they learn to crawl and walk. If she thinks she has it bad now when they're confined to cribs and sleep a lot, she's really going to lose what mind she may have left when they're no longer infants.

I was an unplanned baby and it doesn't bother; in fact, I feel sorry that my parents had the third and fourth kids, because my mom had to give up her singing career, and my dad worked so hard he died at 49. I don't feel "offended" to know I was unplanned. duh! what's wrong with saying "If I had it to do over, I wouldn't have had eight children." DUH! It doesn't mean she hates them. I don't find it disturbing that she would say that, but I'll agree with Gloria on one point, and that's that Nadya is going to need help that works for her at this point, or those kids could be less than safe, and Nadya will be so scattered that it won't be good for her.
