Scream 4 Continues Minus Two

Scream creator Kevin Williamson has spilled some deets regarding the upcoming Scream 4!
Williamson says he's still working on the script for the fourth installment of the film series, and we're not getting just one new Scream flick - we've been gifted with a whole new trilogy!
Williamson explains how the new trilogy came to light:
[Exec. Producer] Bob Weinstein has been bugging me a hundred billion years, "Let’s do it. Let’s do it." Wes [Craven] and I were like "no way." Then finally I was taking some time off, sitting around thinking "what if I had to do Scream 4?" I wasn’t interested, [but then I thought] "a trilogy – now I’d be interested! Could we do that and develop a trilogy?" and then I started thinking about the story. I created three different chapters, broke it up and I got really excited.
Scream 4 will pick up 10 years from where Scream 3 left off, according to the screenwriter.
Wes Craven has yet to sign onto the project, considering the script has yet to be completed, but Williamson is more than positive Poppa Craven will attach his name to the film, whether he likes it or not!
Kevin continues:
Wes is a director who wants to read the script before he commits. And I think that's kind of where it sits right now. But I believe that with Courteney and David [Arquette] and me and the gang all back together again… Just from an emotional standpoint I don't see how he can pass it up, because I just think it would be too much fun for him. Because nothing has been more fun than making those movies. It's a family, and I think we agree that we can't go back and have a family without Dad at the head of the table. So I have a feeling that we're going to make him go. Between me, Courteney and David, we're gonna make him do it.
Williamson also confirmed that both Neve Campbell and Jamie Kennedy will not be reprising the roles of Sidney and Randy in the new trilogy.
We won't miss Kennedy, but bring back Sidney!!!
Uhm - duh… Randy was killed. Reprising makes it into a cheesy zombie flick….

It's a purely 90's series of films. It marked the beginning and the end of an era. Why resurrect in a completely different society with teenagers who were only 7 or 8 when the first Scream came out? I say it should remain an icon of the late 90's/very early 2000's and be left at that.

I get why Jamie wont be back, HE DIED! But why the heck not have Neve back? n She is the main character, the whole reason for Scream 1, 2 & 3!!

Wow Perez didn't you see the movies?! Jamie died in the 2nd one and then just appeared on a videotape in the third one, so he can't really be in the new one, but you still don't have to be a douche evertime you mention him.
I'd love to have Jamie Kennedy back, too bad he was killed off in the second one…Neve however I can do without. We've already seen her chased around for three movies, give someone else a try!
The only thing dead in this movie is the careers of 99% of the stars
if scream 4 takes place 10 years from when scream 3 left off, Jamie Kennedy's role cannot be reprised. his character dies in scream 2.
I am excited for scream to come back though. i loved scream 1. it was the best for me. kind of like final destination. the first one is the best one. now that final destination 4 is coming out. scream 4 is coming out. it could go either way. for suckieness. still i will watch.

Considering Jamie Kennedy's character died in the second one and was only on-screen in a short video in the third one, quit bitching, of course he won't be back in any large capacity - and I doubt they would recycle the same way they brought him back in the last one.
Im looking forward to it but I fear they will just fuck up the original movies. I wish Neve would come back but from what Ive read she thinks shes "to good" She didnt even want to do Scream 3

Neve has made it very clear that she does not want to be in this movie.. so, its time to move on. It won't be the same, BUT its time to move on from the Maureen Prescott storyline and start a new storyline. I loved SCREAM 1-3, but I'm excited to see Kevin take this to a whole new level. (but I wouldn't be devestated if Neve did make a cameo.. lol)

New trilogy, new cast. Stop trying to pull audience in by reprising roles for unrelated scripts. If it'll be new, make it fresh. Especially in horror. Everyone eventually gets tired of seeing the same monster do the same thing to the same cliche group of victims in the same stomping ground through 7 or 8 sequels. Even Jason Vorhees had to change locations and dynamics a few times.

It's a pointless idea without Nev. Its good to still have courtney and david but we need Neve. It means we wont have the numerous amout of times that we hear 'Hello Sidney' on the phone lol !!!!!

they should have stopped after the 1st scream was out…all the movies suck!
