Mark Ronson Sneakers For Gucci

Gucci is launching a "pop-up" sneaker store that will travel the world.

The store will stake out in fashionable cities across the globe such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, and Tokyo and stay at each location for only a few weeks.

During its short stay, the store will supply 18 different styles of sneakers, 16 of which will be for men and 2 for women.

Adding to the fun, and taking a page from Louis Vuitton and Kanye West, Gucci has commissioned DJ Mark Ronson, SaMAN's brother, to design a unisex sneaker for each city, available in that city only.

The fashionable DJ says, "I spent many, many years as an avid sneaker collector, so I wanted to make sure these Gucci shoes were truly special from an aesthetic and collectable point of view."

He seems like an odd choice for Gucci.

Still, we can't wait to see what the store is all about and what Ronson brings to the table.

We just wish they were coming to LA!

The sooner suits and skinny ties make more of a comeback the better. He is an odd choice for Gucci, but I think it may pay off as he's a bit more accessible than the anorexic boywhores they generally use. Granted, he's still gaunt, but not in that "cigarettes and cocaine" sort of way. Let's just try to get the average joes (of which I am one, salary-wise) looking sharper!
