Michael Jackson Tribute Album?

wenn-mjglove__opt1.jpg

There's been a lot of talk about celebs making a Michael Jackson tribute album, and it seems things are finally moving along.

Madonna, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Robbie Williams are just some of the big performers planning on recording the tribute album, along with Whitney Houston, Usher, "Brit schoolboy sensation Shaheen Jafargholi," Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, and Lionel Richie.

According to the The Daily Star:

Mariah will sing "I’ll Be There" and Britain’s Got Talent star Shaheen, who wowed fans at the Los Angeles memorial with his version of "Who’s Loving You," will be asked to record that track and Jacko’s 1970s smash "Ben."

Madonna could be tempted by "Beat It" or "Billie Jean," while other songs expected to be covered include "Rock With You," "She’s Out Of My Life" and "Bad."

And Robbie is being lined up to sing "Man In The Mirror" amid reports his former Take That bandmates could cover "ABC," "Working Day And Night" or "Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough."

This could either be really good or one heaping hot mess!

looks like everyone is cashing in now!! I wonder how much will go to the kids????????

    2. 2

I don't want Madonna to do this stupid peace of shit!

This is so under her level. She is the Queen of Pop and this Universe for god sake! the most famous woman on this planet. She should stay away from this d list project with c list names and celebertys

    3. 3

I am a big MJ fan but this sounds like a terrible idea. Why do I want to hear somebody else sing MJ song's?

Give me a break about Shaheen Jafargholi? In a few years he is going to a fat and weird looking and people won't be going "look at the cute lil fat kid that can kind of sing"

    4. 4

Follow the $$$$ trail…seems like everyone who once WAS someone is jumping on the bandwagon. It's a good way to keep your name out there.

Re: give_it2me – Hun, what universe are you from? Hagdonna is the Queen of Flops. The most famous woman on the planet? What planet? For cryin' out loud, she's an old has-been who hasn't got a hit in ages. No matter how desperately she tries, the poor old woman can't even crack #324 on the Billboard charts and radio won't play her garbage. She's Z-list! The Queen of Flops!

I hate tribute albums!! I dont want to hear freaking beyonce or Usher attempt to sing MJ. I want to hear Michael and only Michael. This is a terrible idea.

    8. 8

Hey b, Sorry I didn't P much this week I've been feeling kinda down cuz I just ym ms. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Think that is why. Hope everything is okay. 46 ms bg. hmaw

    9. 9

Madonna doesn't have the range, talent, or soul to do any of the songs listed (not even "Bad", which is probably MJ at his most lame). As far as the rest, I will go with one heaping hot mess!

    10. 10

man, if they're going to do a tribute album, i hope nobody ruins it and sound awful singing his classics (im looking at u, mariah carey, esp. after that performance the other nite)

    11. 11

Re: Shamrrock – i agree, i mite just download one or two remakes, but remember NOBODY can recreate michael jackson.

    12. 12

I am by far, NOT one of MJ's biggest fans, but I do appreciate his truly one of a kind talent.

Now, that being said…. NO ONE can sing an MJ song like Michael, a tribute album would be more of an insult than anything.

I don't think this is a good idea at all……..the best tribute to MJ would be to just leave him alone.

    13. 13

Re: **KC** – ugh, i like 'bad', but i guess vocally that was him at his lowest, but i still love michael jackson!!

    14. 14

      URH ……. ENOUGH ALREADY !!!!!!!!

    15. 15

A Tribute to Michael Jackson brought to you by the Jehovah’s Witness Choir…led by Katherine Jackson, with backup by sisters La Toya and Janet Jackson.

      THRILLER by the minute…

    16. 16

It is not a tribute really to sing songs that nobody has a hope of ever improving because they are already perfect - Gammy-armed Madonna's options are 'Beat it' and 'Billie Jean?' Obviously, no ballads for her as she can't sing at all - ah Payrez you insulted her wthout even knowing it. However, I would strongly object to anyone especially the old sinew-slut herself even touching Billie Jean - the greatest pop song ever written

    17. 17

I hate mariah with a passion now. she sucks ass! Go beyonce, stevie and usher!

    18. 18

I like the thought of creating a tribute album but I hope that they give ALL OF THE MONEY to charities.

    19. 19

      nooo
and stop calling him jacko daily star

he's dead you know. thats not av very nice thing to say about a talented dead guy

    20. 20

ok so saying that madonna is the queen? is like making her seem like a godest or something..which is stupid. for you to say that she shouldnt do the tribute albumn is so wrong because Michale Jackson was an amazing artist and so is madonna i mean i have nothing against her but what you sound soo ignorant!

    21. 21

And while you're at it, pass me a mango & d.i.p.r.i.v.a.n. cooler.

    22. 22

I think Michael would be flattered, but still, no one could do him any justice.

    23. 23

I think it should be an all-gay tribute. To a gay pop icon. Who'd have ever guessed the King of Pop was also the Queen of Pop. LOLOLOLOL.

    24. 24

Re: give_it2me – Madonna may have been the"queen" back in the 80's and early 90's but now she is a old hag. No offense but If I was her I would take this deal while people still want to hire her.

    25. 25

Re: shayna1234 – No it isn't. They should call him gay or homosexual. Properly. Like he is.

    26. heyo! says – reply to this

      26

im such a big fan of michael jackson! you have no idea lmao xD
i don't think this would be a good idea.. i don't want other people
singing his music, i mean if this happens im not paying for that shit.

    27. 27

Is it a tribute to all those boys he molested??

    28. 28

If money isn't their motivation it's a nice gesture but I wont buy it!

    29. 29

No way. This is just a rumor. Madonna wouldn't do something like this, not her style. But if she were to do any of those songs then Billie Jean, Beat It and Bad are good for her. She's better when she doesn't sing ballads. Stick to the dance numbers.

    30. 30

ewwwwww I would never buy that shit album of his sucky music!!!!!

    31. 31

Re: therealstinkweed – Look moron, he didn't touch any kids. he made some bad choices, he didn't think anything through and he kind of set himself up for it, but i truly believe that the people who accused him only wanted money, and it was clear from the get-go. He was CLEARED of any wrong doing, so i find it HILARIOUS, that this is the only thing you have to say about him, it just makes you look really ignorant.
      good job arse.

    32. 32

      Re: billie123
I LOVE your profile picture! I've never seen that one before.

    33. 33

      Re: the squirrel
Well said, Squirrel! Amen to that!!

    34. 34

    35. 35

Long Live Madonna The Queen Of Pop!

    36. 36

      sounds great

    37. 37

Re: kissmyassobama – i think u are racist. u dont like obama, u donnt like michael…but u can counter that by telling me one black person u do like.

Michael jackson is the ish, but i wont buy this tribute album, i rather spend my cash on his cds.

    38. 38

Re: the squirrel – i agree, people can be so judgmental and ignorant.

    39. 39

      Really bad idea.
The only justification would be if all proceeds went to charity - but it would still be a big mess.

    40. 40

MJ Sucks…stop obsessing over him now that he's dead. You didn't give two shits about him when he was alive two months ago. Ya'll pathetic.

    41. 41

Oh…I bet Perez loves Madonna…Queens love queens right. I'm sure he'll make a big deal when her single debuts below Top 40 next week. Of course, he won't mention it since he's in love with Lady Gaga and everything she does is amazing - sorry just vomited in my mouth. Just like the time Perez said that MJ faked his heart attack to get publicity…I guess no one cares that Perez is full of shit and is f-ing heartless to say the least. He talks a lot of game for being a fat ass with a small dick.

    42. 42

      i hope they dob't ruin michael's classics

    43. 43

      Re: CRABBY APPLETONRe: CRABBY APPLETON

      ur the freak crabby

    44. 44

I'm a Mj fan but I wont pay a dime for this record. Money hungry monsters. Que se vayan todo pa carajo.

    45. 45

I grew up with Michael and still miss him. Wish folks would just leave it alone now! He is missed…Looks good even what was probally his worse low.:(

    46. 46

I really like shaheen and I hope it'll be good for his career.

but this album is not a good idea, it's always for the business.

Sorry but Madge is NOT a good singer, she CAN'T sing a MJ song

Robbie Williams?????? What is his connexion with MJ?????

Beyoncé wants to make a come back, why not a duo with J-lo?

I want an album with GOOD SINGERS and who have a REAL connexion with the king of pop: Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Shaheen, Jermaine and Janet Jackson…

    47. 47

yes, because the daily stars word is law

    48. 48

You mean Mariah will be TRYING to sing it….

    49. 49

i hope all the profits go to either charity or to his kids (the estate)

    50. 50

This is such an insult, a bunch of irrelevant has-been people trying to milk the cash and publicity out of someone's death. They're so pathetic.

    51. 51

When will people realize madonna.cannot.sing. This album will be a disaster nobody can or should cover Michael Jackson.

    52. 52

there can only and will always be ONE Michael Jackson and no one can ever duplicate his unearthly talent and work, lets just keep the creations to the inventor, because i will not be interested in anyone other than him preforming Michael's magic.

    53. 53

WHYYY ARE THEY TRYING TO RUIN CLASSICS??? IF IT AINT BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT!!

    54. 54

Re: Lambertfan – I COMPLETELY agree!!!! why the hell are all these in the moment pop stars trying to bring themselves to more 'fame' and trying to make themselves look 'good' by killing Michael's classics?? and whyyyy exactly after he died? to make them selves look good? i mean if you really love the guy why not have praised him when he would have seen it, when he was ALIVE? and as if they could really pull it off…we should remember Michael and his music whith him and only him preforming it. DUH i think its the second guess, that this will end up being a one heaping hot mess!

    55. 55

Umm no, I'd rather listen to the original songs.

    56. 56

Re: FUNDAB – do u really think that or are you just making a pathetic attempt to bash mj fans? ppl were still crazy about mj…its just that michael kept himself in seclusion for a long time so the media hype would die down and when he tried to do the this is it tour , did u not know his 50 concert tour sold out within a few hours to over a million seats?? quit making up stuff.

    57. 57

This will suck if they let Robbie and/or Take That do a song!! PLEASE NO!! The others will be good though as long as Beyonce does "Smooth Criminal"

    58. 58

Re: give_it2me – wtf.? your stupid.

    59. 59

u kno it was sad and all. but he was no ELVIS!!!!!! its all bout the money now!!!! how sad is that

    60. 60

Never pass up a chance to capitalize on some dead guy. I've heard a lot of these tribute albums and they mostly suck. This is just a way to earn some cash and get some publicity.

    61. 61

ANOTHER ego-fest for the already over-exposed.

    62. 62

Oh, and my vote is hot mess. I will continue listening to Michael Jackson.
