Mimi sang her latest single Obsessed, but there was something off about it all.
The performance was very reminiscent of Britney's VMA gig back in 2007: dull, disappointing and down-right awful.

Mariah's never been a dancer, so I don't know why she feels the need to surround herself with dancers all the time. It looked under-rehearsed, but I wouldn't say she was off like Britney. Britney's performance was a pure travesty.

I couldn't even finish watching this - she's not a dancer so she shouldn't even be going there which gave it a surefire sense of awkwardness - plus the song itself just isn't that good. The guys lifting her in the air like that looked ridiculous - and "smash single" - I love how people will just say stuff to say it - how embarassing.

Mariah ain't a dancer, that much is clear, surrounding herself with dancers just makes her look even more lethargic. That she also looked, well, stuffed into the clothes doesn't help either, she really failed to show off the assets well, and instead left me looking at how wide her hips looked (never where lines down the side to show it off) and how bored she looked. Dressed a little differently, and with dancers that didn't look like they were trying to slow down for her, she might have pulled it off better. As it was, the performance was more "moo" and less "mimi"

Mariah is a singer/songwriter..Britney is dancer/singer. There was no contest here…Mariah gave a competent performance vs. Britney's disaster. It was not her best performance, but certainly nothing to be ashamed of…that is for sure.

Ok I am a HUGE fan of Mariah and have been from day 1, but…the bottom line is: her music sucks…the song sucks. ALL the Mariah fans out there…do you remember when Mariah stood on stage and didn't have to do shit except sing?
She would wow audiences whether she moved or not…because it was about the song and the voice…not the glitz and glamor. Ever since she crossed over and started doing R&B, she sounds like EVERY OTHER R&B singer and that is sad because she truly does have a power house of a voice.
If she could write something that resembled the stuff that made her famous in the first place, the stuff that showed off her voice- not cover it up…I think she could be back to where she was in the early 90's…

She's not feeling it. The body's there, but the head is somewhere else. She's a ballad singer who is singing the wrong stuff to try to stay current. Why is she singing this broken up pop crap when she has the kind of voice that prefers to soar over the octaves like Celine? I can see and hear that it doesn't challenge her. She has enough money for several lifetimes, so she has the luxury of cherry picking and focusing in on what she does well. She ought to contact Cowell or someone similar, and get a consultant and a voice coach (it never hurts to refresh yourself) to find the real music that suits that voice. Josh Groban specializes. El Divo specializes. At one point I felt this girl could do opera. Oh, and I hope it's not the song content that has her feeling not right.
