Cocaine Contributed To The Death Of Billy Mays!

The toxicology report for Billy Mays is in and it's not good.
As doctors had already suspected, one cause of death was heart disease, though it wasn't the only contributor.
Apparently cocaine played a hand in his untimely death!
The medical examiner stated:
"From the presence of metabolites of cocaine and the absence of cocaine itself, it was concluded that Mr. Mays used cocaine in the few days prior to his death but not immediately prior to death. Cocaine can raise the arterial blood pressure, directly cause the thickening of the wall of the left ventricle of the heart, and accelerate the formation of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries."
In other words, the cocaine complicated Mays' already present heart problems, causing him to die.
Drugs are bad, kids! Don't overlook the long term effects they can have!

Secondly, why don't you post the family's statement demanding a private autopsy, that no one has ever seen him use illicitly and the other drugs were used as prescribed by his doctor for his chronic pain, including a 3rd hip replacement.

Billy seemed like a great guy, however after watching Pitchmen, I was convinced he was a drug user.
Coke does not directly contribute to "disease" of the heart. Disease implies more of an enlarged heart with blocked arteries. But the use of drugs and painkillers can screw with the heart either way. But it isn't so much of a "disease" per se.
I hate to say it, but I knew it when I first read he had died. I mean did you see him on that reality show or watch those damn infomercials? Drugs played a factor and I called it the first day!! George Foreman did this because he wanted all of his sons to be equal or something like that so hey if it works why not? They don't complain they are not out there committing crimes or high so I guess it works!

sad, but this is what drugs do to you. People think that coke and crap in overly large doses can kill you right away…..but….. I knew 2 people that died of apparent heart attacks and when the autopsies were done, their hearts were enlarged and the drs. determined that cocaine had damaged both their hearts and had contributed to their deaths. In one case, One of them was one of those sneaky users, got high at night, every night, by himself or with a few friends, but never in public, so outside those few friends, no one knew he did coke, well the naive ones thought he was a clean and upstanding slimeball and were in total shock. My friend, his girlfriend went around saying, I never new he did drugs, I thing they made a mistake, etc. Michael never used drugs, I never saw him use drugs. (even I knew he used drugs and had assumed she did too.) People just assume that when you tell them that drugs and alcohol can damage your body, everyone means 'SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY, NOT MINE, BECAUSE I USE ONLY OCCAISIONALLY, OR I DON'T DRINK OR GET DRUNK THAT MUCH, ETC. IT'S THOSE DRUNKS ON TV THAT ARE GOING TO DROP D E a ………… oops

Re: Snickers – That's directly contrary to the coroner's report and all medical science. Coke can affect arteries in a healthy person, leading to the speeding up of gaining certain diseases. And no, I didn't know for sure - I looked it up after the report was put out, because I also wanted to find if any other drugs could cause false positives ala Adderall and Meth. It appears so, depending on what he took and when.

It's not insane to actually challenge these findings too. It can hugely affect things like insurance payouts. Hell, look at MJ's ordeal. Potentially millions lost. I heard a statistic once from the red cross (i think), but it said that the chances of heart attack increase 54 times from the time you do the first line.
Cocaine is really really bad, this is a another sad ending to what already was a sad story…this year is depressing
