Neverland Might Become A Tourist Attraction!

Looks like Neverland might move… to Vegas!

There are talks of turning Michael Jackson's old home into an attraction in Las Vegas.  Apparently, the Jackson's estate is actually considering the idea.

According to a source, "the idea is to take physically everything that's not part of the dirt and reassemble it in Las Vegas."

Colony Capital, the investment firm that bought the property last year to save it from being auctioned, is drafting a business plan for the Graceland-like endeavor, which would include a museum, theater, and potentially a burial spot for the departed King of Pop.

The move would cost tens of millions of dollars, but would ultimately end up turning a profit, should business projections go to plan.

What do U think of the idea to transport Neverland to Vegas??

Would U go visit it?

Another craptastic place to visit in Vegas??? I'm all for it.

    2. 2

      first

    3. 3

I knew they would come up with something like that.. -__- making money over that man's back…

    4. 4

Had the feeling that might happen. Yeah, I would visit.

    5. 5

Had the feeling that might happend. Yeah, I would visit.

    6. 6

If they do something like that, I hope they do move it to Vegas. I'm from Los Olivos, and I'd hate to see that cute little artsy cowboy town turn into a tourist trap - it would completely ruin it. Vegas would be much better for that.

    7. 7

Yes, it should become a tourist attraction, but it should stay right where it is!

    8. 8

I think its a great idea, and there is no better place for it than Vegas!

    9. 9

      NO DONT MOVE IT!!
its like 45 minutes away from where i live!! leave it here u money hungry fucks!
and for the millionth time! LEAVE MICHAEL ALONE!

    10. 10

      hells ya

    11. 11

i think it's a decent idea, though i wish they'd keep it where it is. It makes sense to make it an attraction, however. Elvis has Graceland, MJ has Neverland. The Kings deserve it, I think.

    12. 12

it's not the same but i guess whatever

    13. 13

I WON'T SAY ANYTHING REMOTELY SARCASTIC OR FUNNY TO TARNISH THE IMMPECABLE IMAGE OF MICHAEL JACKSON.I WOULDN'T WANT THE PRESIDENT OF THE MICHAEL JACKSON FAN CLUB POLICE( MJ FAN 59 )TO GET PISSED OFF!!!!!

    14. 14

Yeah…good riddance to Las Vegas for getting Neverland. One less vacant mansion rotting away from neglect in California. And the residents around Santa Barbara should be delighted to see it go…

    15. 15

They should leave it where it is and then make keep it as a theme park with all the rides and make it and expensive tourist atraction u can ride rides and stuff

    16. 16

      I like it BUT
they shouldn't move it, it wouldn't be right

    17. 17

if they bury michael in vegas at neverland, his entire family deserves to be disowned by the world. i am not a jackson fan, but a dead person's wishes should be honored. in life, he cut all ties to neverland and never wanted to return there. what a travesty to even think his family might bury him there- even if it is in vegas.

    18. 18

Went to the gates of Neverland last month and I totally get why the people of Los Olivos would not want a tourist attraction. But having Neverland in Las Vegas is not the same.
Personally, I would want to walk the grounds that Michael walked.
      comments??

    19. 19

i think it's ridiculous. maybe they should sell his body parts next.

    20. 20

      I'll visit!
      I love u mj

    21. 21

Re: jebjeb – I agree…. don't bury Michael at Neverland.

    22. 22

      Leave it where it IS!
Would want to visit where Michael lived and walked during his life.
      VEGAS NO NO NO

    23. 23

Tacky, Tacky, Tacky! Disrespectful to Michael. He's probably turning in his grave right now.

    24. 24

Re: kansas – I was thinking the same thing, dude.

    25. 25

I just knew it the second I heard that he had died: now the real circus begins and I was right. It is pathetic!

    26. 26

it´d be great !!! of course i would go !!

    27. 27

There is no way Michael Jackson will ever compare historically to Elvis. This is a dumb idea.

    28. 28

      Is it sponsored by NAMBLA?

    29. 29

Re: QUEEN FOR A KNIGHT – "I WON'T SAY ANYTHING REMOTELY SARCASTIC OR FUNNY TO TARNISH THE IMMPECABLE IMAGE OF MICHAEL JACKSON.I WOULDN'T WANT THE PRESIDENT OF THE MICHAEL JACKSON FAN CLUB POLICE( MJ FAN 59 )TO GET PISSED OFF!!!!!"
Hey don't get mad at me b/c your memory is shot when it comes to the things that you say about Michael. And FYI which Michael Jackson Fan Club would you be referring to? Their are so many fan clubs set up for this wonderful man, and I happen to not be a President of none of them. But based on your comment (the comment that you forgot about making) you would fit in real nicely in one of those fan clubs, seeing as you LOVE Michael so much.

    30. 30

I believe Colony Capital LLC is trying desperately to make some money on this property. You can't make a shrine a Neverland without dealing with some of the negative issues that happened there, you would have to address the Jordan Chandler case (and the 25 million payout). No, I say make a museum for all the Jackson Family in Gary Ind, with a whole section for MJ and his musical legacy.

    31. 31

DO IT!I'd totally go.Plus, then the ghost wont terrorize children. You know, walking in front of lights and making shadows and all. B/c ghost definately have shadows.

I really think michael wants to be buried in neverland, b/c he never want to grow up. AND as long as the owners of neverland give at least half the profits to some kind of foundation(s) then I think Michael would be ok w/ it. And why wouldnt he be buried there…if he was buried somewhere else it'd draw a crowd too.Keep all the crazy MJ fans in one place. Vegas is perfect. Anywhere else it would be a hazard and disturb surrounding residents. I dont know why peopel have such close emotional ties w/ someone they never even met/know…besides he's always loved his fans attention. Now he'll get it forever.

    32. 32

Re: Candy Barr – actually…"historically" speaking.he's bigger than elvis…just sayin'.

    33. 33

No, b/c it is NOT fucking Neverland. Why can't people tour the actual ranch?

    34. 34

I can only imagine what they'll find hidden in the walls of that house when they start taking it apart to move.

    35. 35

will they have the children who lied about being molested as part of the attraction?? i would go if the parents who made their kids lie to make some money were there in a dunk tank!!

    36. 36

      Yes i would DEFINITLY GO

    37. 37

Re: Candy Barr – lmao hes bigger than Elvis, even when he was alive , and hes more famous after his death. So. I do believe its the other way around.

Personally, I don't think he should be buried at Neverland. He never wanted to go there ever again. He said he wanted to cut ties to the place. I do think he should have a special place, for his fans to pay respect. But something respectful, its going to be like a circus. And at least he should have some peace now. If they want to build a museum, they should do it in LA. Separate places. Otherwise its just tacky.
But I'm not going to lie, I would visit it.

    38. 38

Re: meeeee – why, oh, why do you, and everyone else do the 'first thing', even if you are fist, it makes you look like a dick.

    39. 39

i'm sure it would make the folks that live in SB happy.

OH…Did I mention. FUCK YOU FAT BODY!

    40. 40

HELL yea!!! I love MJ!! :)

    41. 41

Re: marcooo – I will buy his scrotum!

    42. 42

      Re: kansas – ok jjg

    43. 43

GREAT NEWS!!!!! Not one person here in the Santa Ynez Valley wanted NEVERLAND to become a memorial- Michael Jackson LEFT the Valley vowing never to return…so it is fitting that it isn't here. IT was abandoned and vacant- empty and torn down. NOTHING is left- good luck reassembling NOTHING.. Its all gone- sold off to the junk folks. RIP Michael- we loved you here and respected your privacy- wish your family and business associates would do the same. RIP!

    44. 44

      Heck yeah I'm there..

    45. 45

      Knew that would happen.

    46. 46

so, maybe I'm just dumb, but how can they move an entire mansion? would they do brick by brick or like a mobile home and just slice it in half and haul it?

    47. 47

Re: frankeeb – By the way, I love your Avatar pic. Beautiful.

    48. 48

I think this is by far the stupiest idea yet! Michael LEFT Neverland after the bullshit he went through with the child molestion accusations and NEVER wanted to return to it. Now that he's dead, its suddenly appropriate to use the place that caused him so much grief and pain in his life as some sort of fucked up memorial????!!! I don't think he would like it and neither should his true fans who loved him!!! It's gross and there are many other ways Michael could be remebered besides re-building his former home that caused him so much pain in a city known for its sometimes tacky entertainment. Michael wasn't about Vegas so why the hell is there to be a memorial there? I think his memorial should be in LA or maybe even his hometown of Gary, Indiana - but not Vegas. I hope this is just another messed up rumour making the rounds of gossip sites!!!

    49. 49

lol…technically, he's not even in a grave yet!
i'd go to vegas to visit it, definitely! But it is a little sad thu. everyone knows he never wanted to return to neverland so i really hope he's not buried there. as crafty as h-wood is maybe they'll fib and say he's buried there but will really be buried else were in a cemetary under a fake name that only the family and friends will know.

      50

hell no, leave ot in los olivos, fuck the neighbors.

    51. 51

      thats cool

    52. 52

Like it! I'd visit if it were reasonably priced.

    53. 53

God Lord. Put his brain back in his head and bury him. its getting kinda sick

    54. 54

Yeah i would but can you say TACKY

    55. 55

Do it but don't move it. Screw the neighbors if they don't like it!

    56. 56

      Who wouldn't…lol

    57. 57

Re: lolalovesmichaeljackson – These are all legitimate points. But then again, it's not really supposed to be a shrine to him, right?

Maybe more like a museum/historic site. The home was actually beautiful and well-situated on a beautiful piece of land. It should remain there intact, as a piece of history representing who MJ was–even if he ultimately abandoned it later in life.

    58. 58

i would want it to stay right where it is, but if it moved I would visit

    59. 59

It should definately be moved and MJ should be buried there. He like LV.

    60. chlyn says – reply to this

      60

As a way around the Los Olivos problem, it's a great idea. But overall it stinks. All anyone's done since Michael's death is try to find a way to capitalize on his memory. Usually the memory/money-making things happen naturally over a longer period of time. But with MJ, it's like they had a board meeting on the afternoon of his death and they laid out all these plans: we can sell the rehearsal video! We can tape the memorial service and sell it! We can sell the individual songs from the memorial service! Blahhh!!!! Money-hungry vultures!

    61. 61

I think I would be creeped out going there. Michael was "over" neverland. He did not want to be buried there or go back, it was no longer home. I would not take my kids to visit neverland. Even saying the name sounds sick and twisted. It's tainted.

    62. 62

just leave everything how it is only make Neverland open to th public ^_^

    63. 63

well, considering he had left Neverland for good and put it behind him, and was making plans on making Vegas his permanent home and "Neverland #2" a stable home for his children, and taking nightly shows into consideration, (see Celine Dion for reference) I think Vegas is a viable consideration for the idea.
It would secure income for his kids, and would also give the fans something, especially in vegas, and let's all face it, he's become a freak show at the end of his years, and that's where they all go at the end: Vegas.
      It's perfect.

    64. 64

I think it'd be cool for it to be a tourist attraction but not in Vegas!! They should keep Neverland where it is!

    65. 65

they didnt move graceland across the country, wat a stupid idea.. im all for a museum or something like that but wuldnt they put it somewhere like his hometown or somewhere in la instead! even if michael hated neverland it is what it is, they should open that up to the public but they shouldnt bury him there…although doesnt anyone else think its wrong that they havent buried him yet is been over a month!

    66. 66

Re: PerezTheBlogNazi – I'm with you on this. Let it stay right where it is. That is the ground Michael walked on!

    67. 67

they should keep it where it is and make it an attracton. i love michael, i'd def go

    68. 68

It would absolutely turn profit, that's for sure. I would def say leave it where it is but we have all learned from the traffic it produced when MJ died that is not a possiblity. I would go but would like it more to stay where it is.

    69. 69

Nope they should leave it where its at and make big big money

    70. 70

      everything for money

    71. @v@ says – reply to this

      71

Neverland. That's how often I'm going to go. I loved his performances, but I can't buy into that dysfunctional fantasy. That's what got him. He needed pragmatism.
I have no doubt it will be a popular destination in America.

    72. 72

If they're gonna do Graceland 2.0, at least leave the house where it is! It's more authentic and interesting that way, to me at least.

    73. 73

      yea, i would visit

    74. 74

I would visit it if it were in Kansas! What ever thats means lol

    75. 75

Re: lolalovesmichaeljackson – Great post! You said it all!

    76. 76

No, Neverland should stay where it is right now! And, Michael should be buried there! He should not be buried anonymous! As I have heard today. The family Jackson should think about the fans instead of themselves! Neverland was a creation of Michael's mind, he belongs there. If he will be buried there, I wil absolutely visit him. I love him and miss him. I will travel all the way from the Netherlands! But not to a fake Neverland in Las Vegas.

    77. 77

I Think they should leave Neverland where it is, allow fans to think MJ is buried there, then bury him anonymously someplace that only his family knows about, and everyone's happy — case closed!!! And I don't believe turning Neverland into a tourist destination is just about money-making for his family, although it will definitely make money, I think to his family preserving Neverland is more about preserving MJ ‘s lacacy.

    78. 78

YES YES I would visit. I love vegas anyway and that would b awesome. My husband and I new they would do something like this. I figured they would do it like Elvis's place"graceland". But I figured they would use Neverland for that! I would attend. Graceland is awesome. Going again for the 2nd time soon. I love it there. Would definetly visit MJ anywhere they put him!

    79. 79

no no keep it where it is like wtf ?

    80. 80

That is a perfectly good Idea !! Go for it

    81. 81

I think they should to always remember who he was : )

    82. 82

Tacky idea to move it but then Vegas is not exactly a mecca of culture and good taste…whatever they do it will be immensely popular. People are dumb enough to want to go visit a place that's just a re-creation of where MJ actually lived, its authenticity is merely a minor detail for the type of people attracts.

    83. 83

Re: Victoria NYC – Funny you should mention that. Where I live I can walk to Kansas. My dad lives there. LOL!

    84. 84

Nope, I want the ground that MJ walked on, the dirt he picked to build his dreamland. Fuck the neighbors. They can move. This is forever.

    85. 85

FANTASTIC IDEA! I am not a fan of M.J. but if I visited Las Vegas, yes, I would go to see Neverland.

    86. 86

keep it where it is and make it public!!

    87. 87

It doesn't shock me in the least… I saw this coming months ago!

    88. 88

the jacksons are a messed up family! first they used his funeral, as a concert to make money, then they sell all kind of stories to the press.. to make money, now this…?? like how much more advantage can they take out of poor michael (rip)! he was deffenatly born to the wrong family, because if i were his mom, or jannet, i wouldn't let n e body touch his neverland home.. SOME ONE PLEASE STOP THE TERRIBLE JACKSONS!!

    89. 89

      Re: Candy Barr

??? It's way bigger. MJ is famous in every corner of the globe and Elvis is not. I don't really even see why people even try to pit the two against each other since Elvis' mother and daughter like MJ enough for Lisa to marry him and Priscilla gave them her blessing so apparently the people who knew and loved Elvis knew and loved MJ.

    90. 90

Hi, I am from Warsaw, Poland, and a great admirer of MJ genius. You wrote you live in Los Olivos…. Have you ever saw him???

    91. 91

I think it should definately stay where it is. I dont see why they cant make it a tourist attraction where it is now, i think that would be much more historical, because its where michael jackson actually was, where he stepped, where he lived. It would be a place where fans could really feel michael. In Vegas, it would simply be a few of his belongings and a new building, is it really the same? no. Michaels heart was not in vegas. it was at the original neverland. The only reason people are saying they would go and see it in vegas is because its near them, or its michael jackson. Keep neverland where it is, and give us a chance to be with michael!

    92. 92

      Ugh…
If they make it a tourist trap I may NEVER hear the end of Michael Jackson…
      I guess I'll put on headphones then…

    93. 93

I think this idea is stupid! Neverland should become a museum and stay where it is! To see the authentic place where he lived is a dream of millions….

    94. 94

      Re: CelebrityDigsHQ
      You are absolutely right!

Hi, I am from Warsaw, Poland, and a great admirer of MJ genius. You wrote you live in Los Olivos…. Have you ever saw him???

    96. 96

      Perez, you ignorant slut,
      .
What you all are forgetting are the four people MJ loved more than anyone or anything in the world…his mother and his children.
      .
I bet if you asked MJ, he wouldn't care what they did with Neverland or where they buried him if it means that his mom and kids can be well taken care of.
      .
Screw the neighbors, leave Neverland where it is, and bury MJ there. Let it become Graceland 2.0

    97. 97

hey perez been gone hALf the day did not hear that this week at all on news about
micheal jackson alot wild stories out there i been looking at jonas brothers news
about kevin jonas and trying to find a acting class to stay busy

    98. 98

You know Michael left Neverland because it was too painful for him to remain there after the false child molestion accusations!! he built neverland for him and making children happy!! I hope in the near future these two kids that accused him of these god awful things come forward with the truth!! Me being a hard core MJ fan I know the truth!! If he was alive I believe he would of started a new Neverland!! As much as I would love to see like a graceland setting for michael Im more at peace knowing he is at peace forever!! walking through neverland…would not make my grieving process any better…I would like to see a charity in Michaels name and I would rather donate to his cause more then a circus of people trying to make money off his name. and he DESERVES a noble peace prize TOO!!

    99. 99

      I think that's a great idea!
He didn't want to go back to that "place" per se ~ But he did love Vegas!

He needs to be buried in a respectable place where his fans can continue to worship him ~ Not in an unmarked grave like they've been saying lately.

I hope they go for it! :)

    100. 100

LEAVE NEVERLAND RANCH IN LOS OLIVOS! Everyone in the local area except a few rich snobs in Los Olivos WANT Neverland Ranch to open. They think they can play GOD and keep the ranch closed to the public. They harass people and NO ONE here likes them! They have shot down countless new businesses and job creations. They have already made their money and don't care about stimulating the local economy that desperately need jobs. Why do they need SOOO much privacy when the ranches are miles apart from one another? It's because they are making and selling drugs and fimling x-rated animal movies on their ranches. If they want to live in the middle of no where and not be bothered they need to dismantle THEIR OWN ranches and move them to Alaska! Moving the ranch to Vegas, which is a giant pit of debauchery and sleeze, is not suited for Neverland and will only subject families to prostitutes, drunks and other scumbags. Contact www.losolivosca.com and tell these snobs to back off for good!
