Who wouldn't want to see a legend for free, especially Barbra Streisand?
In celebration of her new CD, Love Is The Answer, Babs is returning to the place where it all began for her. She'll be performing a free concert at the Village Vanguard in New York, where she first took the stage 48 years ago!
Her performance will take place on September 26th where she'll be performing songs from the album which is described as a collection of "jazz standards and classics."
There are two ways to get into this one-of-a kind event: Either pre-order the album or fill out a free entry form through her website.
We think it's totally worth it!!!

Wooooow, ya know Paris Hilton could take a lesson from this. Babs used to charge MAJOR bucks for a performance but with the recession, this is very nice of her to do. I'm sure some real fans will have an enjoyable time.

I'm guessing the concert is free to offset the complaints she's had before of over-charging for tickets. There comes a point where logic dictates that you should get a price break on tickets to a concert put on by an ex-diva. It's an album of covers. They're called covers. Funny, a punk band performs someone else's hit, and it's a cover. Babs performs someone else's hit, and it's a "classic" or a "standard", or an "homage". WTF?! How is her copying any more significant than another act's? No thanks, Streisand. You could pay me to see the show, but I doubt I'd go for free, and I certainly wouldn't pay her past prices, no chance. She's too full of herself.
By the way, Mandy Patinkin was *MUCH BETTER* in Yentl. For those who weren't aware, Streisand took the book, and twisted it around, for self-elevating purposes. In the film, Yentl doesn't have the gender confusion so obvious in the book, and is merely a girl posing as a boy so that she can go to school. I guess the truth of the book wouldn't have given Babs the incredible fame.
