Victoria flew into Denver for the first round of Idol auditions on Friday, and according to inside sources, the former Spice Girl didn't bring her A game to the table.
"It didn't go too well," says a production insider. "She tried too hard to be 'nice,' but came off as icy and wooden."

Contestants were also said to be "deeply" disappointed when they showed up to the Paula-free audition!

i like the blunt truth…that's the point of the show. sometimes those who've been subjected and/or lack something understand how to fix it. i'd be very interested in seeing VB evolve into the role/spot. she has a dry sense of humor yet cutting and sharp. she got where she is by those wits..let her/everyone relax- she'll bring it. paula was paula…but she doesnt need to be there to know what she'd say. move on…and bring something english to the table that may row with simon-if he has contrast with posh we may see fireworks and insight. no kissing ass with posh that's for darn sure…she has a backbone an opinion to bring to the table. edgey-ness just may need to percolate within the show's people to let go of the past-change is hard to see by those who are used to status quo, you know! success is earned by taking chances/making changes. that goes for the audience, too, have faith the audience can handle it if allowed. hollywood can kill a show by copying, the mission statment of the show is evolution- being artists, noy being lame. don't replace paula…grow. people will be forced to grow too…they really don't care ultimately, they've got lives afterall (so stop enabling…ya'll!)

Producers greatly underestimate how popular Paula is. If anyone is an empty suit it's Randy. No one really cares what he says. Dunno…my man David Cook defines everything an Idol should be, lost interest early last season, though I will say Glambert has an amazing voice and style. Kris Allen, really? I won't watch without Paula, she kept it pretty real, "dawg."

I'd love varied past contestants such as Jennifer Hudson, Brooke White, Syesha, Katherine….who know what it is like to go through the process and who would likely be as kind as Paula, give good advice, and would give a critique that is actually helpful. They can all be guest judges for one week. I wonder if many would turn it down because they don't want it to look like they are 'walking over the picket (strike) line of Paula holding out for more money'.
