Legendary country music duo Brooks & Dunn are calling it quits!

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have announced that "it's just time" for them to leave the country music scene and will be breaking up after a 2010 farewell tour.

"After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time to call it a day," said the duo in a statement.

"This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time," they explained.

Brooks & Dunn are now preparing for their final tour, The Last Rodeo Tour, and the release of the greatest hits collection, #1… and then some.

They certainly had a good run!

      WHO?

    4. 4

Nashville music is sooo controlled by the record companies, that B&D were probably told it was time to retire. There's a younger, hipper country duo out now, Big and Rich, so cojuntry can't have two male duo groups so goodbye B&D.
I'm not a country fan (or western), but thse guys were all right. No Hank III, but not bad.

They also both announced, in a more private manner, that they are functionally illiterate, and they are taking time off in order to learn how to read. I'm their psychotherapist, so I know for a fact that they're a couple of real dunces. "See Dick run….." ha ha…

oh no! i grew up on these guys. They are the best of the best. Up there with Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks. I guess twenty years is more than enough to ask for, but I think they could get a few more in!

      Whhhhaaaaaaaaatttttt?

I can't believe that. Whats brooks without dunn, and dunn w/o brooks. Yeah they are old and have been together for a long time. But the country music industry is a little respectful than other genres. They give where credit is due and they could have keep going as long as they want….

guess thats why they are retiring, i'll try to make it to a concert.

    21. 21

      nnnnnnoooooooooooooo they can't do that

    22. 22

NO!!!!! I loved their song "Neon Moon"… I'm so sad. I will try to see them in their last concert then.

    23. 23

      O.O
Wow, that's surprising!!! And sad at the same time :(

    24. 24

this is depressing to me. just another step to country music being taken over by more pop wannabes.

    25. 25

They will be back together when they realize they can't make the same money apart.
