Dan Rad Continues To Be Awesome

We're even more in love with Daniel Radcliffe than we were before!
The Harry Potter star has made an extremely generous donation in his name to The Trevor Project!
In case you weren't aware, The Trevor Project is the only 24-hour crisis and suicide hotline in the nation specifically targeted at lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
The Trevor Project is "extremely grateful" for Daniel's "truly inspiring and historic generosity and support," says Charles Robbins, the executive director for the organization.
"He is setting a meaningful example for millions of young people around the world by embracing diversity and demonstrating that he cares deeply about the well-being of LGBTQ youth," Robbins concludes.

Radcliffe has released quite the touching statement about his donation to the non-profit organization.
Says Dan:
I am very pleased to begin my support of The Trevor Project, which saves lives every day through its critical work. It's extremely distressing to consider that in 2009 suicide is a top three killer of young people, and it's truly devastating to learn that LGBTQ youth are up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers. I deeply hope my support can raise the organization's visibility so even more despondent youth become aware of The Trevor Helpline's highly trained counselors and Trevor's many other resources. It's vitally important that young people understand they are not alone and, perhaps even more important, that their young lives have real value.
Dan Rad deserves a big pat on the back!

It's about time that someone stood up for a cause that they don't personally suffer from. Not to say that being LGBTQ means you suffer, however if your going to commit suicide, you obviously do. What I mean is, we never hear of a celebrity fighting for or standing up for a cause that they are not personally affected by and to know that this young man has taken time, money, and his heart and placed it in this cause makes him one of the few people in this business who is worth looking up to. Apparently he walks away from his character portrayal with more than just memories, he walks away with strength and courage.

Dan is such a sweetheart. It's good to see that he has grown up to be a well rounded empathetic person. not like so many other stars today who are hoarding fame or desperately trying to be in the news by putting out naked pics of themselves, making sex tapes or wearing ridiculous outfits. Note to all stars: if you really want to be remembered, do something that will help those in need of it. I would much rather see more stories like this on here than another naked pic of some nonentity.

Dan APPEARS to be sweet and nice, etc. Only people who really know him can tell if that is true. At one time in the past he was clearly shy and yes, "sweet" and "nice", but he has grown up. Now he seems okay, far from the worst of professional actors, but no longer "sweet" or especially "nice". In interviews he seems pretty hard and calculating like most actors. And not shy at all. I think his fame has finally made him utterly self centered, as are probably most actors sooner or later, and self centered people are rarely really "sweet" or "nice".
I think people who idolize movie stars probably don't quite understand how self centered they are, or become. If they are successful their lives are a constant round of talking about themselves, or drawing attention to themselves. In short everything they do revolves around "me". This has to have a weird effect on them in that they become fixated on themselves completely. The rest of the world is just "fandom" that is useful only to pay attention to them. No wonder so many go off the rails. Even the best become egonaniacs. The only fly in the ointment is what no one can avoid: accidents, bad health (cancer), addiction and death.
