Simon Cowell is just at the end of finalizing his contract with American Idol. Simon already has a year left in his existing contract and, now, is expected to sign on to a 2 year deal.
Furthermore, sources say he'll be a getting a rather significant pay increase in the next agreement: $45 million, up from $36 million a year under his current contract.
That's what Ryan Seacrest will make in 3 years!
Can't we convince you to throw a little of that flow Paula Abdrool's way, Simon? Honestly, you need that much?!
Maybe a season without her will change your mind!

I used to watch the show, but the "it" factor is long gone..it sounds and look so manufactured now..it's about money… the show is corny..I only watch the finale now..it had its moment…NEXT!

Why should he throw any money too Paula? How annoying must it have been for him, to show up for work ontime, sober, and constantly have to deal with her being drunk, incohearent, or, during the audition rounds, late, or missing? If you are a good employee how would YOU feel if the company said "Oh, we're going to take some of your salary and give it to the drunk employee who never does any work and shows up late all the time….give me a break.

Simon is the biggest douche bag and doesn't deserve to make that kind of money. I haven't watch that show since the 2nd season. If Simon & Ryan miss Paula so much why don't they throw in some of their money to get her back?
Why oh why do they keep increasing his salary when every year he looks more bored and disinterested and his comments are no longer witty or funny and just plain bland????? It's one of life's mysteries.

That's a lot of numbers; perhaps he has other development deals with them. He's a resourceful guy. He's certainly not worth that much more than any of the other judges on the face of what they do. Hell, since they added a fourth judge, they didn't even seem to get to him half of the time, and when they did, he was rushed for mere seconds.
