Good news for Kiefer Sutherland. The star of 24 has just been named the highest paid TV actor in the US.
So just how much does Sutherland make for playing agent Jack Bauer?
OVER HALF A MILLION PER EPISODE!!!
Kiefer reportedly makes $550,000 per episode of his hit show, beating out Hugh Laurie, the star of House, who makes $400,000 per episode.
But there's some bad news for Sutherland.
The execs at Fox aren't sure if they're going to renew the show's contract after this upcoming season.
Fox's head of programming reveals, "It's going to come down to a business decision. It's not an inexpensive show on the network books and we also want to finish strong. This is not a show we want to prop up."

Believe it or not… I've only just discovered 24!!! Only on season 2. It's the best thing I have seen on tv….ever! Absolutely brilliant! It also helps that he is ever so fit! I think he deserves every penny and live in hope Jack Bauer comes and takes me out on a date!!!! lol!!!!
Think how many people buy the 24 box sets??? someone is making a fuck load from this series - that should be reflected in the stars salary. Although i don think they should end it before it sucks. its getting very repetitive

Charlie Sheen has been named the highest paid US TV actor of 2009.
The Two And A Half Men star earns 825,000 dollars (£496,000) per episode, including income from his ownership rights in the comedy, according to TV Guide Magazine.
William Petersen, who plays Gil Grissom on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, is the second highest paid, earning 600,000 dollars (£361,000) an episode, followed by Kiefer Sutherland who earns 550,000 dollars (£330,000) for every episode of 24.
Because of the number of outings Kiefer makes as Jack Bauer in a series on 24, that make his annual earning from the TV show almost £8 million.
Law and Order's Mariska Hargitay was named the highest paid TV actress, earning 400,000 dollars (£240,000) per show.
TV Guide editor Craig Tomashoff said: "Sheen and Petersen are at the very top of their game and are the best at what they do, you'd expect them to be at the top of the scale."
British actor Hugh Laurie was also named in the list of top TV earners, taking home £242,000 an episode for House.
The magazine also revealed the cast of The Simpsons earn 400,000 dollars (£240,000) per episode, while American Idol judge Simon Cowell earns 50 million dollars (£30 million) for one season of the talent show
