Career Crumbling! Mariah Cancels Big Appearances!

Fans who requested tickets to Mariah Carey's August 28th performance on the Today show received an email today (see above) stating that Mimoo cancelled on NBC and has been replaced with Miley Cyrus!!!
Not a good sign! Especially with a new album supposedly coming out next month!
To add insult to injury, Carey is also noticeably absent from the list of performers at this year's MTV VMA's!
The songstress was originally scheduled to perform at the September awards in NYC, but Mariah's name has been left off the latest press release!
What gives????

If I was Mariah, I would be putting out a new single QUICK! A ballad and not a load of old hip hop shite… I think this will help soften the blow of having a song like Obsessed which is basically just a vehicle to produce controversy around her new album… its not working in Mariah's favor though.
I love Mariah, and like I said, E=MC2 was a good album, but it was too formulaistic… basically the same kind of ish as TEOM, Charmbracelet and whatever other album she put out in the last 10 years. She should hook back up with Walter A or Babyface even. Her best album was Butterfly because it mixed R&B and ballads WELL. Perhaps going underground with club/dance music might even help because that kind of music usually requires powerhouse vocals, something Mariah needs to start exercising again like she did back in the day.

The last two albums and Obsessed sound the same (even though they are great) and maybe that's why it hasn't reached #1 yet! She's not doing anything for the VMAS because this year the VMAS are all about "Poker Face & Just Dance", "Singles Ladies" and "Circus".. This makes sense coz when she was going to do thie concert her album was going to be relseased like 3 days after the concert! Soo theres no point in performing new songs of the album when:
1) the albums not done
2) the album isnt going to be out like 3 weeks after the concert… the songs wouldnt be fresh in everyone head!
