American Idol champ Carrie Underwood has been selected as one of three musicians to be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame this year in September.
She joins keyboardist Rocky Frisco and vocalist Ramona Reed.

She is a little young … and the Oklahoma Hall of Fame is like being inducted into Perez Hilton Presents, no one knows about it and they don't care.

Re: fly a kite – It's not about crossover hits. It's about total. 3 Grammy's one year, 2 more the next and another this year. 3 years running for best female country vocals. The first album being the highest selling country record ever to debut, and 7 times over platinum. I think she's topped 10 or 12 number 1 singles total. She's the most successful country artist in history comparatively. I hardly think that means "a few" hits.

I'm originally from Boston and I too used to be a giant music snob and quite ignorant as well until I moved to OK, but the music scene in Oklahoma has been and continues to be quite innovative and thriving. Don't judge a place til you know something about it!

Carrie's accomplishments are far too numerous to mention, but the most telling, I think, was this year's ACM Entertainer of the Year win over all the other great artists. Piggy Boy is too busy putting together his "magical mystery tour" (the mystery being who those people are) to realize how great she is. Cutest lil' Okie from Muskogee I've ever seen!
Hey, not a lot of cool shit happens in Oklahoma- nor do we have a ton of celebrities from our state. It's exciting, she's pretty much the only Idol, besides Kelly, who actually pursued a career.
