Jermaine Jackson is was planning a Happy Birthday Michael Jackson televised tribute later this month, yet failed to get it organized in time.
We're sure this is just an excuse to revive his flailing musical career as he's set to perform a duet with an unlikely partner, Larry King's wife, Shawn.
WTF?!
"We wanted to make sure that everyone [who] wanted to be there could be there," Shawn explained about the memorial not happening as planned.
The tribute was scheduled for August 29th in front of a 250,000 crowd in Vienna, but supposedly they couldn't line up enough talent, sponsors or broadcasters.
Shocker!
Since the date as been pushed back one month, Shawn's spokesman, Howard Rubenstein confirmed Usher, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston will perform.
Yet, Houston's rep denies the claim!
The original promotional materials, which were looking for sponsors willing to pay up to $3 million, listed confirmed talent such as President Obama, Al Pacino, Madonna, Colin Powell and Richard Branson.
White House sources and Madonna's rep both confirmed that neither party will be in attendance!
We're seeing a pattern here!
Shawn and Jermaine plan to sing their duet, "Will You Be There," and release a CD from the event!
We sure it's all for the $$$$$ memories!!!

i wouldn't trust jermaine any more than i'd trust his crummy father. they are both opportunists who don't give a crap about what michael would have wanted; they proved that with their nonsense about wanting to bury MJ at neverland - something he would "never" have wanted.
and i'd also like to apologize to anybody on here who i upset several months back when i called MJ a pedophile. i now believe that i was WRONG. i feel very badly for buying into the rumours of his guilt. i have great pity for MJ now. i think he suffered greatly in his life. i hope, wherever he is now, he has found peace. i only wish he could have found the strength to stick around for his three beautiful children. i hope they will be ok.

Why is everyone bashing the Jackson family? If his siblings weren't doing anything for Michael's legacy or for his fan's people would be saying that his family doesn't care, it's such a catch 22. The proceeds from the event would be given to charities, and I don't think that Jermaine is trying to take advantage of anything. Jermaine has always be a loyal person. Jermaine has always tried to be a loyal person, who tries to do the right thing. Like in the 70's when he stayed with Motown instead of leaving with his brothers, he wanted to stay loyal to his father n law, and person who gave them their start; Berry Gordy. None of Michael's siblings (asside from Latoya but she was abused by her husband who made her) have ever used Michael's name for their own monetary gain, and just b/c they are trying to honor their brother does not mean their trying to start now. People should leave Michael and the rest of his family (whom he loved) alone…
If the money gets donated to a good cause fine.
But if the Jackson Family keeps one penny of the proceeds.

Ive spent several months on this site along with some other ppl to defend Michael and to give random people facts and evidence (not hearsey) so they could see he is innocent etc. I dont know if you bothered to look into that facts etc.. But Im glad that you have changed your mind about Michael because I remember some of yout comments about him. I mean, you could just ignore and not admit you were wrong since we are all behind computers/dont know each other and couldnt care less etc.. LOL.. you know what I mean. Poor Michael. Im still so sad that he is gone. Never to walk on stage again. The only way I can conceivably accept this "memorial" is if ALL proceeds go to the several charities MJ was passionate about. All of it people!

iRe: tigrrrlilly – wow tha't really great .i suggest to people to watch michael jackson the documentary which shows how mean were the accusers of michael. i used to think he was guilty, but then i start to read about the case and came with the conclusion that he was an innocent person.i know he was an addict,but if the media and the people were so unfair and make laugh at me i also will take drugs to relief the pain. it's sad, but true.i'm also mad at the media that always try to make him look like he was a monster or something. i think the media is the real monster.they are very influential and a lot of people believes in everything the tabloids said.

i am very sad that this man had to die too young and with such young children who desperately need him. i will say this, his death has helped a great deal in my own personal understanding of my mom's death. she was a prescription drug abuser who was enabled by doctors and family alike. we did not understand the depth and breadth of her problem and she wound up dead too young as well. this whole thing has helped me to let go of some of the guilt i felt in her death. people who are addicted to drugs at this level will go to any length to get what they need; you can't MAKE somebody this addicted want to get better. i feel very bad for his family and friends who wanted to help him and i don't think they should be judged or blamed for not stepping in and "saving" him. this was just a horrible tragedy and i really hope everybody connected with his estate honours his memory in loving and respectful ways.
Ok look, everybody has moved along. Yes, I'm sure they are still sad, and I know I am. But just let it be! He's gone, I wish it weren't that way now but it is, and there is nothing that can be done. So leave it all alone!
