The whore will be playing the character of Queen Sophie-Anne, a character who is "very powerful, capricious and most likely insane," according to show creator Alan Ball.
Not a stretch for Wood!
Ball says Queen Sophie-Anne also "has more than one secret agenda" on her mind, and that the other characters will never be "entirely happy to see her."

It wasn't crafted for her, but she's too old to play that role. The character is in the book and was turned into a bampire as a preteen. But the series has changed so much that the choice to use someone older isn't surprising.

As for ERW in this role… I'm kind of disappointed, but only because I read the books first, and Sophie is eternally 16 years old in the books, which is part of her character's interestingness - she was turned into a vamp at 16, LOOKS 16, yet over the course of all the years since, she's gained incredible wisdom and power, and all the most powerful vampires bow down to her. ERW is a bit too old-looking for my tastes.

There is a lot of missing back stories in the book series.. and the HBO series fills in the gaps. Sure, they change some things…but you have to in order to make a successful series that sticks. The books are amazing.. so read them all!
