Yet Another Actress Becomes A Producer

Natalie Portman does have a Harvard degree, though, so maybe she can handle this.
Natalie will be producing a high school comedy flick for Fox called Boooksmart. The premise revolves around "two overachieving high school seniors who realize the only thing they haven't accomplished is having boyfriends, and each resolves to find one by prom."
Sounds cheesy.
No word yet if Natalie is the kind of producer who casts herself in the movie.

I think she can pull it off. The first movie I ever saw of her was The Professional. She had talent then and i think she was like 11 years old.

a ton of high school movies sound "cheesy". 10 things i hate about you, mean girls, pretty in pink… it all depends on how it is executed. but knowing natalie portman's style and class…. totally amped for this. at least its not another revamp of a shakespearian or romanticism piece. though i can't deny that she's all that is a personal rom com HS fav.
See people knock women who get educations and then get degrees. She isn't just another actress who wants attention….she can quit and use her degree. She's a smart cookie!

You said it right in the beginning. She's a Harvard graduate. She can handle it. If you can reach the success you have with no formal education I'm sure that Natalie (an actress with great films under her belt) can handle the production side. Again, accomplished Harvard graduate that she is.

Movie sounds lame. I can already envision these two nerds: they get fabulous makeovers (waxing will be involved), go out with boys and have fun, realize what they've been missing and forgo their scholarships to Harvard (nod to Natalie) and opt for a party school instead. Until they realize their man crushes are also going to Harvard. Cut to the scholarly foursome laughing while they walk arm-in-arm towards their future at Harvard. Lame and done to death!

This isn't her first time as a producer. She was also a producer/director on the film, "New York, I Love You." GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT! Natalie will be awesome!
The plot of this movie sounds very American Pie-ish. It's definitely not the most original storyline.

The only cool thing about her was that she dated Devendra Banhart, totally awesome, brilliant singer/songwriter and great human being. Portman isn't that good of an actress anyway. She's either underacting and stale, or overacting, but oddly never having enough personality to reach the level of hammy in every one of her performances. Always unfortunate. And she's also a Zionist, that's the worst part.

Re: auds – Wanting to be in a relationship doesn't mean that women NEED men. Why can't it mean that real, healthy relationships are one of the hardest things to achieve in this life and can be one of the most valuable lessons to learn? Going around life "not needing things" is just a defense mechanism because something seems too hard to attain. Why can't two gorgeous, intelligent women want to be in healthy, fulfilling relationships? It doesn't make them weaker. It makes their life richer.
