Melissa Joan Hart's Heartache
Sabrina The Teenage Witch alum Melissa Joan Hart has been through some tough times recently!
And we don't mean because of the comments she made about Farrah Fawcett dying or her ill attempt to spin her remarks.
Instead, Melissa has been dealing with a very sad family issue.
Turns out her mother, Paula, had to undergo an eight-hour surgery back in June to operate on a brain tumor!
Melissa is now opening up about the ordeal. She says:
"I was beyond worried but had faith. I had to be patient. It was tough. Having all six of my siblings there made it easier. We tried to distract ourselves with games in the waiting room. I even stupidly challenged my brother to a push-up competition!"
In fact, Melissa wanted to be so close to her mom that she packed up from Los Angeles and recently moved to Connecticut with her husband and family!
She says, "We moved 3,000 miles away, we left behind our house and our friends — it's very hard. But it's for my mom!"
Nice to see she cares about someone more than herself.
We hope her mom has a speedy recovery!

My mum had a brain tumor removed in late sept 08, died in jan 09….its tought, so tough, cancer has no mercy or dignity.
Hopefully MJHs mother will make it !

My boyfriend had a brain tumor removed back in May. Brain surgery is no joke… so many things can go wrong. But he is getting better day by day.

Mario, you are an asshole. Just like my ex with the same name. My now husband and I left our comfy home to go be with my Mum as she was diagnosed with cancer. That was the beginning of our relationship. Making plans for Los Angeles and visits with someone we both loved. I feel fortunate I am married to a man who takes the time to support me at that time.
How very sad for her mom. I hope she pulls through. HOWEVER, Melissa stated a while back that she was leaving LA because of the lack of roles for "real" actors (I assume she was delusiounally referring to herself) and that Hollywood wasn't the best place for a Republican like herself to live anyway. On top of that, she said moving would make it easier for to be with her husband when his shitty band tours so although I wish her mom the best, I think, for the most part, she's full of shit!
Wow. That's refreshing. So many famous and wealthy people get disconnected from their family nowa days. Good for her. She won't regret it. And her children will do the same for her. Nothing worse than being old and alone.
