Since Cameron Douglas is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in NYC pending drug trafficking charges, his father, Michael Douglas, removed his head from the sand and finally addressed his son's drug debacle.
"The family is devastated and very disappointed in Cameron's recent behavior. Any family who has dealt with substance abuse knows how devastating it can be," said a new statement released by Poppa Douglas.

After Cameron's first arrest on charges of distributing crystal meth, he was released on bail and put on house arrest. It wasn't until the boy genius violated the terms of his home detention when his girlfriend brought him a heroin-filled electric toothbrush, yet she claims she had no idea.
She's just an angel dating a drug dealer!! Not suspicious in the slightest!
If convicted, Douglas faces anywhere from 10 years to life in prison.
Shaming your family, a possible jail sentence and bringing drugs into your mommy's home?!

…drugs are no laughing matter. Young adults get involved because it is glamorized and so prevalent and it is a dangerous 'career' choice.

Addiction is a pervasive human condition and illicit drug addiction is goes alot deeper than the "poor little rich kid" with too much time on his hands. Unfortunately, there are (insert word of judgment: unscrupulous, selfish, amoral, evil) people in this world who will capitalize on peoples' weaknesses and sell/provide/procure/create very very dangerous substances to provide options for addicts to fill the void. This is not to say that we do not all have personal responsibility to ourselves, loved ones and those around us to try and overcome addiction or at least replace unhealthy addiction with "healthy" addiction (if there is such a thing). My point is, I'm not so quick to label this kid an "eff-up," "loser," etc . . . This is a major problem in our society that a lot of GREAT people succumb to. My prayers are with him and his family.
Oh big woop.. The charges could be worse.. I'd sooner have a drug dealing son, than a muderer for a son.. I like drug dealers.. W/out them, I'd have no supply of the good green.. So they're valuable!!

Celebuspawns are extremely vulnerable to dying young. Living up to a legacy seems to be too much pressure. He's been a druggie for a long, long time - and all the intervention doesn't seem to make any difference. He hasn't found anything he's good at except getting loaded. TRAGIC!

Solves problems, doesn't cause them! Yea, I smoke it everyday.. I don't drink or do hard drugs!! I'd never touch hard drugs, whoever says pot is a gateway drug is full of shit.. Well, in my case anyways..

This doesn't address the obvious likelihood that his son had been doing this for quite some time, and no one seemed to notice or ask where exactly his lifestyle was coming from or how it was being financed. Those kinds of things are pretty easy to deduce if you're paying attention.
as someone who was not a celebuspawn whatsoever, who is also in recovery, I feel an enormous amount of empathy for both michael and his son. That being said, you know the girlfriend was either high or just stupid to begin with because there are about one million better ways to smuggle drugs just using the body god gave us as women….I'm just saying.
