Mr. Jackson's Opus
There is a slew of Michael Jackson memorabilia to be found these days, but nothing will be as extravagant as the first book to be published about MJ postmortem.
Kraken Opus Publications has just announced their pre-sale of The Official Michael Jackson Opus, a 400 page tribute to the King of Pop. The book will give the closest inside look to MJ's life ever and within the pages will be tons of photos and memories of his life, as well as "essays, illustrations and poetry, at least half of it exclusive — all handbound in leather and enclosed in a silk clamshell case."
And it's an official release!
Michael and his team were already in negotiations with the company to make the book when he died, so many of its contents have been personally supervised by him. Because of his untimely death, the company is seeking out friends and celebrities who are willing to contribute to the book to talk about Michael.
The book will be available as of December 7th with an asking price of $165. (That's down from the normal $2,000 price tag of other celebrity editions.)
It certainly looks in-depth, but perhaps this is going overboard?

Sorry, but it's ridiculous how people are cashing in on his death. I can't honestly believe that he was allowing something like this being how private of a person he was. Now, you are going to get his money sucking family involved and they are going to want a cut. Disgusting how people act when their loved ones die!

Its kinda expensive but fans will indeed buy it and Im glad Perez that you wrote that this book have been on the map before MJ passed away. This company are not coming in after MJ's deah to cash in.. because they were all, including MJ, working on this project BEFORE he passed away. I dont know when they were talking to release it.. but Im glad that he was there and supervised the project.

If it's "official" I think that the Jacksons will make a ton of money, and that it will be filled with inaccuracies and lies.

i mean we almost practically know everything about his life , he has been out since he was 5 . but maybe if we do read it , it will give us insight into how he was feeling and it would really come from him cause he wrote it

I think this is a worthwhile investment for any true fan of Michael…I definitely plan to purchase this book! It's funny though that some people are bitching about the price….$165 is nothing compared to the millions people have spent purchasing the tabloid magazines that trashed Michael right into his grave….
$165 to purchase a book that is a positive reflection of Michael is inexpensive in my opinion when you look at all the money that has been spent trying to knock him down. And if the money goes to his family, so what? His children and Mother (who would be the ones benefitting from any money brought into his estate) deserve to receive the proceeds from anything done to memorialize their loved one in a positive manner.

They destroyed him and now they are all over him and praising him. Its so sickening. Michael describes its best in his song Tabloid Junkie: ""Speculate to break the one you hate. Circulate the lie you confiscate. It's slander. You say it's not a sword. But with your pen you torture men. Frame him if you could. Shoot to kill. To blame him if you will. If he dies sympathize…"" This sums it up good. I just wished people were smart enought to not buy the craploids and feed the tabloid with all their lies. I loved Michael and I hope this book puts to rest at least some of the lies told about him.
It's no more overboard than the incessant coverage that everyone is giving him. Remember he was and will probably the biggest celebrity ever. The $165 price tag? I get that. More people can afford to pay that amount opposed to $2000. Sell a few thousand for $2000 or possibly a couple million for $165.

I love that song "Tabloid Junkie"…it's a pretty accurate protrayal of what happened to Michael with all of relentless media back stabbing him…Martin Bashir is one example of a media personality who shit on him but pretended to be nice…Diane Sawyer is another one who was a total bitch to Michael - all in the name of getting a good story and/or ratings…Nothing sold more than shitting all over Michael!!!…Now those idiots are raving on and on about how "great" Michael was and how "sad" it is that he's gone…They need to just go fuck themselves and shut up already!!! Michael didn't need their support when he was alive and he sure as hell doesn't need it now.
This Opus is a fitting tribute to a man who always displayed class, humility, kindness, and love…even to those who didn't deserve it! The only journalists I ever saw be compassionate towards Michael was Geraldo Rivera and Oprah…the rest just crapped all over him because that was the trendy thing to do….now the whole world loves him so I'm sure they (the media) will be falling all over themselves to sing Michael's praises….It's gross.
I would buy this Opus no matter what it costs….if only to show support to a man who gave me so much happiness while he was alive.

Talk about fake!!! you're right, people like him hated on Michael when he was alive but after he's gone they all of a sudden 'realise' what positive impact he had on so many people - its insulting!!! Can't wait for the opus to hear MICHAEL'S words and not words manipulated by the Tabloid Junkies.

Farrah died that morning, and her death too was very tragic and a big loss. But alot of people, you could say, saw it coming because of her battle with cancer. Then all of a sudden, Michael dies, and it just caught us off guard.
