The cast of Family Guy presented a live table-read of their controversial abortion episode at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Wednesday night. As of now, FOX has decided to not produce the episode because of its content.

Watch some of the clips from the read (above) and tell us if U think this episode should stay off the air!

      I think this guy is brilliant in his work. He takes different viewpoints of a controversial subject, and goes "in a circle" with them; he brings up all sides and points out in his comedy that we are, at the core, a bunch of hypocrits and morons swimming in our own irony. :P

      I'm not attacking you, B, but your statement got me thinking…
      1) If you were told that abortion was the only thing that would save your own life, would you do it?
      2) Do unborn fetuses have more right to life than pregnant mothers who stand to die if they give birth?
      3) Is it ok to use a rifle in wartime and kill someone, but not ok to kill an unborn baby?
      …….I don't have answers to any of those questions, but the thing is - generalized statements such as "killing babies is wrong" avoids accepting the fact that we allow people to kill ADULTS all of the time, AND make jokes about it.
      We also make a fuss about abortion being a taboo subject on television, but look at the VIDEO GAMES our youth are playing. Pointing guns and shooting at people is fun, apparently, to "play" at, but TALKING about abortion on a TV show is off limits?
      Man, we gotta stop screaming "think of the children!!!" and simply start thinking about our fellow human beings. Maybe then the answers will come? I dunno… this is still a tough issue for me to sort out.

      It's not the subject that I find hilarious… it's Seth Green's ability to point out our own foibles on a controversial topic. He manages to bring it all together and illustrate - regardless of the topic - just how twisted and ironic we as a society can be.

      I've come across much funnier takes on abortion, one of which was a musical.

      Personally, I couldn't possibly care less. I usually don't even watch 'Family Guy.' If Fox is so concerned about losing advertisement dollars or plummeting ratings from this one episode, why not just make it a special feature on that season's DVD release?

      here this post wasnt about whether you are for or against abortion. its about whether or not the script was as bad as it was made out to be. which it wasn't.

      But just to throw this in the mix : abortion is a personal choice and no one should be able to tell you whether to keep your embryo or not. It's no one else's business other than the expectant.

      Many of you are saying, "Nothing funny about abortion."
      Yet when was the last time you had a good chuckle while watching a war movie?
      Didn't we all just crack up when Clint Eastwood said, "Go ahead, make my day?"
      Do you not cheer when your favourite CSI/NCIS/RENO911 cop shoots the bad guy?
      And when the latest propaganda commercial on war comes out, and you hear Marines laughing - yes, LAUGHING - about how many "towelheads" they've killed… how many of you laugh along with them?
      And yet we can't even HEAR the word abortion without our knickers getting in a knot. Why is that?
      Seriously… we poke fun at DEATH all of the time. It is a coping mechanism, and a means of learning about ourselves, and our motivations. And in the laughter, comes the knowledge, the acceptance, and maybe, some healing and enlightenment on the subject.
      I say, Rock On, Seth. SHOW us what we need to be thinking about, instead of avoiding out of fear.

      I'm pro-life (except rape and when the woman's life is in danger) but since I couldn't hear half of it, I don't think that it was that bad. I was more offended about that line about how if God wanted us to kill babies He would make all babies Chinese girls. South Park is more offensive than Family Guy anyway. And it didn't seem like they were supporting it anyway.

      Very simple procedure. We inject poison into the beating heart and then you return in 3 days to have the fetus removed. Sometimes we miss and the poison doesn't stop the heart but we take the fetus out anyway after 3 days. Yeah, I think that's pretty funny.
