Joe Jackson Accepted $$$$ To Attend Son's Funeral!
At least he doesn't have custody of those kids!
According to the Gary Post-Tribune, Joe Jackson charged the city of Gary, Indiana $5,000 to grace them with his presence at his son's memorial service.
Mayor Rudy Clay believes that event honoring Michael Jackson will bring a profit to Gary once all donations are counted.
Ew! Why are all these people twisted?!
"It turned out beautiful and great and we're not using taxpayers' money," said Clay, "so we should be given a blue ribbon for prudence."
Or a kick in the ass for only caring about profit!
It is not known whether the money given to Joe and the musical group the Chi-Lites was for travel expenses, but we're sure pretty sure it's still skeezy!
Meanwhile, a MySpace page claiming to belong to Chi-Lites is promoting an August 22nd birthday party for Joe Jackson in Illiinois, in which proceeds will go to build a Jackson cultural center in Gary.

If it weren't for Joe Jackson Michael would have been flipping burgers for a living. Joe was the driving force behing the Jacksons getting out of the ghetto & Michael never would have survived in the ghetto.
I live pretty close to Gary and I'm not surprised at all. The Mayor and the entire city government there is more than corrupt. I'm sure they had the cash laying around too….it's not like they spend it on law enforcement or anything.

Joe was the pusher for Michaels talent to come true..but he didnt give that boy the talent, he didnt teach him, it alle came naturally…..And Michael and jackson 5 would still had the sucsess, even if poppa Joe didnt beat them!

But Joe was the one who forced Michael to practice for tens of thousands of hours until he was spectacular. Of course it's wrong to beat your kids, but would Michael have practiced 10,000 hours had Joe not physically forced him to do so? Natural talent only goes so far if its not developed and if it's not marketed correctly. Joe forced Michael to practice & develop his talent & Joe made sure Michael was singing the right songs to the right people at the right time. Without Joe's drive and vision Michael would have ended up break dancing on some street corner in the ghetto for quarters.
Why are the Chi-Lites involved?? I like the Chi-Lites since I grew up listening to their music…. but I'm disappointed that they're associated with Joe "I never beat my kids" Jackson! Shameful.

This is one of the most disgusting and heartbreaking stories regarding Michael that I have ever read…
His own FATHER had to be PAID (I don't care if it was to compensate his for his travel expenses or whatever….As if he didn't have his own money for a flight to Indiana and a hotel room….Give me a break!) to attend a memorial service in honor of his CHILD that just died????!!!! That's beyond fucked up and really speaks volumes on the type of parent and man Joe Jackson is…He is a low life and obviously did NOT love Michael - at least not in the way a father should love his son.
At least Michael was able to be a good father to his own children and didn't repeat the mistakes of Joe. I pray that Michael's children aren't exploited by their grandfather…I'm sure Michael will be watching over them from Heaven and doing what he can to help them.
