After almost 30 years in prison, Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme was released from prison today.
For those of you who may have missed this in history class, Squeaky was a member of the Manson family during the 60s and 70s, and in 1975, she was thrown in jail for pointing a gun at then-President Gerald Ford.
For those of you who are theatre buffs, she's the character who sings the duet Unworthy Of Your Love in Assassins.
Does this now 60-year-old looney pose a threat to our current President?

The story is very interesting….she pointed the gun at the president and one of the Secret Service Agents put his hand (that webby part in between your thumb and your pointer finger) in front of the hammer and as it came down it was blocked from hitting the bullet to make it fire.

I am in no way defending anybody from the Manson Family but, the gun wasn't loaded, she was less than 10 feet away-which meant she could've killed him had she really wanted to and she is crazy. She said that she always felt bad for not participating in the murders and wanted to prove her loyalty to Charlie.

I think a lot of people here don't even know what this story is. The people in the Manson family were all brainwashed by one truly horrible man. I think it is fine to let her out. I think she will definitely be watched. I have seen interviews with most of the Manson family (including Manson himself) and the woman all regretted what they have done, and now they have to live with it, and they said that that is the worst punishment, living with what they have done. Manson took sheltered girls and put images and thoughts into their minds and fed upon them needing him. I am glad that this girl spent as long as she did in jail, but I am also glad she is out.
It's NOT Squeaky Fromme that has cancer. It's Susan "Sadie Mae Glutz" Atkins that has cancer and wants "compassionate release."
I don't know what Squeaky's deal is. I had heard a rumor she had renounced Manson, but it was just that, a rumor.

This woman has spent pretty much her entire life in jail. She actually danced on the Lawrence Welk show and at the White House when she was younger. She started drinking and drugs in the 60's, started suffering from depression, and presto. This is your brain on substances. Just read her bio. Baffling.
