Police Say Phelps Isn't To Blame For Car Crash

As we previously mentioned, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps was involved in a car accident in Baltimore on Thursday night.
Luckily, no one involved was seriously injured. Eyewitnesses had originally blamed Phelps, saying he was speeding and ran a red light. But Phelps just caught a lucky break.
Turns out the cops are putting the blame on the other driver involved in the crash, stating that the woman driving a Honda Accord was the one who sped through a red light and crashed into Phelps.
As for Phelps, who pleaded guilty to driving drunk back in 2004, he was not given a Breathalyzer test this time.
The department's chief spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi, revealed, "There was no need. He was completely coherent. He was cooperating with police. We have a witness statement as to what occurred. We knew it was going to make national news and everyone was going to watching this and every news agency was going to be hiring their best accident investigators and we wanted our best on it."
As for the female driver, she was described as shaken up, but after being treated at a nearby hospital she was released and is said to have suffered neck and arm injuries.
We give it a matter of time before she speaks out publicly about the whole ordeal. Wonder if she'll deny the reports and blame Phelps?

So what you're saying is that once AGAIN Perezhilton.com published a false story accusing Phelps of being the cause of the accident, speeding and running a red light. see i told you on another post you shouldnt be so quick to blame him. from the angle of the car he hit it looks like the woman was making a right turn (on a red light) from the farthest right lane while he was going through the intersection

Just when i thought there was no possible way he could be uglier then i saw the second pic i stood corrected anyway Speed was NOT the factor in this car crash. He just looked in the mirror and was horrified by his uglyness THATS what caused the car crash duh…

people need to calm down, perez is just reporting the story as it unfolds..first there was speculation that phelps caused the accident, so he reported it, as soon as he got more information, he posted that too

is the picture of the vehicle sitting where it was hit or has it been moved. if its where it was hit he is on the other side of the intersection and it would be impossible for the other driver to have run the light. it means he went thru the light. I beleive the cops are putting the blame on her because he is a celebretard. ooh look at me I can swim. weeee!!!

Bottom line with insurence companies is if you ass end another car you were following too close and are at fault. Even if the guy in front of you unexpectedly slams on his brakes you are supposed to leave enough room for this possibility. She ass ended him so she is at fault.

In fact, just last weekend, I had my first fender bender(minor, but still my fault) and I have been driving for 23 years with no accidents OR tickets. Shit happens. Get over yourselves.
