Sexy And Creepy!!!

doriangray.jpg

Check out this just released poster for the new horror adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Prince Caspian himself, Ben Barnes, looks creepily fantastic as the rich, superficial Gray character, who wishes his portrait would age instead of him. When it does, Gray must fight the evil monster that lives within the portrait.

Spooky!

Dorian Gray comes out Sept. 9th.

Are U interested in seeing this flick?

      31

Yes!! OScar wilde was a literary genuis!!!! he was also funny. His last words was documented as " either the wall paper goes, or i do" he was on his death bed in a run down motel because he was bankrupt by the end of his life. … still cant wait to see it!!

    32. 32

Re: Lawrie – yeah i'm pretty sure he's blond… i dont know why they changed that.. but it still looks good!

    33. 33

      sexy! creepy! i'm in.

    34. 34

Looks just like Sherlock Holmes with a cracked face.
      Love the story though.

    35. 35

I like it's coming out 9-9-9 flip it upside down 6-6-6 lol wanna see it.

    36. 36

I just read DG (well I read the first two thirds, then got distacted by reading something a bit more interesting) but the whole time I was reading it, I was picturing Dorian as Jamie Bower Campbell (is that his name?) not sure why. This works alright though, I just wonder if this guy will be able to pull off the super innocence that Dorian is supposed to have in the beginning. And yah I always pictured him as blonde too, but this movie doesn't strike me as sticking too closely to the literature, haha. Classic english lit turned corny sci-fi horror flick. I wonder if it will be nearly as homo-erotic as the book.

    37. 37

      fuck yes!!!!!

      LOVES IT !

    40. 40

OMFG YES!!!!! It is my fav book!!! and Ben Barnes… yum… but I have to be honest, I never pictured him for Dorian Gray's role.

    41. 41

Hell yeah! The guy looks mmmm!

    42. 42

      @ I love haters:

the Dorian Gray from the movie has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the Dorian Gray from the book. Throw away your television and go read a book!

    43. 43

Yes, and boy do I hope it holds it's own against the book! Oscar Wilde was remarkable.

    44. AJ. says – reply to this

      44

its the portrait of dorian gray!!!! fat illiterate

    45. 45

Re: VivsinSampa – I see so I wont state that The Picture of Dorian Grey already has been made into a move with Angela Lansbury (who was once pretty hot), Donna Reed, Basil Rathbone, and Peter Lawford. And I can't remember who actually played Dorian. But that movie was incredible unfortunatly I own it on VHS. :

    46. 46

Am I interested? Hell to the f–k YEAH!!!!

I can only hope this movie will be at least half as homoerotic as the book.

    47. 47

      interesting! can't wait, looks good.

    48. 48

i'ts a interesting story!!! But… now?? really NO.

    49. 49

It's impossible to do The Picture of Dorian Gray justice! It's a manifest, not an ordinary book! Stop ruining aestheticly important books by making them into films! All the previous attempts have failed to do Wildes masterpiece any justice.

But for all of those who want to drool over Ben Barnes (who's not that hot btw - at least according to me) this movie will surely be the highlight of the year!

    50. 50

i hate the book, so no

    51. 51

      YES!!!

    52. 52

Is he going to sing and dance like he did in his boyband??…

    53. 53

      he's not all that

    54. 54

      SCORE!!! I'LL BE WATCHING!!!
The League of extraordinary gentlemen didn't do a good enough job of portraying him. So yay!!!

    55. 55

hell yeaa! i am reading the book for summer reading and it's reaqlly goood so farrr.

    56. 56

what is up with the description, Perez? I didn't know that Dorian Gray fought monsters.
      And I will see it.

    57. 57

….that sounds NOTHING like the Picture of Dorian Gray. BOO!
I hate when Hollywood rapes great literature.

    58. 58

Re: BeautifulBrunnette69 – Hey there. THank you! I did return the favor. You are awesome!

    59. 59

Well I've seen the picture on TCM! And guess what Anglea Lansbury was in it and still kicking on Broadway. This movie dates back to the early 40's. Maybe Anglea could do a small role. But, it was a good movie. This one depends on how they play it.

    60. 60

YES!! I can't wait for this movie. It says the UK release is in September… I hope to GOD it comes out in the US at the same time!

(See GraceMarieKelly's). Now I'm just hoping and praying it comes out in the USA!! Finally Perez, I love you for posting on my favorite man on the planet!!

    68. 68

Re: Hellokitty1972 – I love haters was talking about that movie, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to watch any DG film, I'd really like to see how directors/script writers envision it.

    69. 69

omgsh he's a hottie hot hottie lol

    70. 70

This better be good. I've loved this story since I was a teenager, Wilde was the first writer I became obsessed with.

      71

YES ! Oscar Wilde is a legend, 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' is certainly one of my favorites. Looking forward to seeing the adaptation, hopefully it lives up to the book (although, highly doubtful).

    72. 72

    78. 78

Absolutely! One of my favorite books ever. PLUS Ben Barnes!

    79. 79

Sounds great! The Picture of Dorian Grey is a great story, it's about time it was made into a movie!

    80. @v@ says – reply to this

      80

This is a classic, and most of the plot should take place in your head. Digital agers who like to turn their brain off and be entertained will probably say boring.

    81. 81

Hell ya I love the story of Dorian Gray. Hated his portrayal in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen though but love the actual story!

    82. 82

Gonna see it but pretty sure it's not half as good as the book. Is the movie gonna be funny? The book was pretty witty, some of the best passages were the humorous ones. Ben doesn't really do it for me, I don't think he can portray Dorian as Wilde intended-Humorous, homosexual, vain, innocent, and treacherous and probably a whole bunch of other stuff I can't think of at this time. Movies are never as good as the books they are adapted from. I'll keep my expectations super low so I wont be disappointed, which is pretty much what I do for most movies anyways.

    83. 83

I am now! didn't know this was in the works. thanks perez x

    84. 84

As of right now, it's not even coming out in the US

    85. 85

it's a great book. hopefully the movie is great too…

    86. 86

      Yum!

    87. 87

      Loved the book!

    88. 88

im sooooo excited to see that movie!
i think it mite be a fave!

    89. 89

Hell yeah if Ben is in it!! He's gorgeous!

    90. 90

Oh my god!! Yay my favorite book!!

    91. 91

the book is a very delightful reading, movie should turn out interesting.

Ben Barnes looks so sekkksssssssss in that pic!! Reminds me of a younger Christian Bale, yum!

    92. 92

for sure I'm gonna see this, it's one of my favourite books ever. oscar wilde rocks.

    93. Bevi says – reply to this

      93

Ohhhh yeahhhh…. Horror is my favourite genre. But I hope it does the book justice, most films don't do that.

    94. 94

i don't know if i see the trailor mayb

    95. 95

i didn't know this was going to be a movie! ugh, love the book and him!

    96. 96

Yes, I loved the book :)

    97. 97

Lol at PFF, thats what i thought! Awful description of the story. LOVED the book and like Ben Barnes so i hope its good. Seen the trailer a few times but finally saw it in the cinema last night and it looked even better on the big screen. People who won't see it because it won't be exactly like the book need to wake up, no film is ever exactly like the book, film is a different medium and so the interpretation is undoubtably going to be different.

    98. 98

if it means ben barnes in it then hell ya!

    99. 99

      looks good.

    100. 100

Oh gods YES! YES YES YES! I love Oscar Wilde, I love this book.. I really wish they'd portray Dorian as a blonde for once like he's supposed to be, and it seems it make take away from Oscar's original ending and maybe a bit of the story, but I am so fucking seeing this opening day or opening weekend. Fuck yes. I'm gonna so fucking ask my step mother to drive me. Fuck yes. Fuck YES.
