Bollywood Legend Interrogated By U.S. Immigration, Not Happy!

The "King of Bollywood", Shah Rukh "King" Khan was detained and interrogated at Newark Airport in New Jersey on Saturday and the people of India are fuming!!
The Indian-born Khan believes he was interrogated by immigration in New Jersey after a British Airways flight from India because Khan happens to be a common Muslim surname which appears on national security checklists.
Shah explained the situation to reporters: "I was waiting for my bags. I thought it was nice of them to take me to another room, but that was apparently a second check. I had my papers in order."
He says he was told by the officials the detainment was due to a "routine" luggage check, but British Airways managed to lose Khan's luggage!
"Lose", eh?
Khan was interrogated for a number of hours before officials let the actor make a phone call to the folks over at the Indian consulate to call for his release from detainment.
Although the Bollywood king realizes the "unfortunate" procedure is one "that needs to be followed," many in India are up in arms over the detainment of their national hero!
Saturday, which coincidentally enough was India's independence day, saw many protests in the northern Indian city Allahabad, including the burning of American flags and an effigy of President Obama!!!
Praful Patel, a civil aviation minister, believes India will "take the issue [up] with the United States government strongly."
He continued: "Such Incidents involving Indians due to their religion or nationality should not happen. We will not accept it."
In an attempt to keep the peace, American ambassador to India, Timothy J. Roemer, has released the following statement regarding the interrogation:
"We are trying to ascertain the facts of the case, to understand what took place. Shah Rukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films," says Roemer.
Thoughts????

YEAH FUCK AMERICA!
so what! i would think that a few hours of someone's time would be well worth the security of this country! if they don't like the security rules then don't visit!
tough. that's the way it is here thanks to the 9/11 radical muslims. that's just the way it is. don't like it….don't come. thanks.
its the same fucken thing for us latinos especially the mexicans who pick the same food them racist americans shove in their mouths.
for muslims is it a lot harder tho since u kno they fucken attacked us! .. -.-
Boo fucking hoo, I hate going through Immigration all the time. Who the fuck does he think he is, he's not above the law, especially if he's not in his own country. Idiot.
Right on top of the news Failure in all media
Yoho!
my thoughts:
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
where i was??? oh yeah…zzzzzzzz
COCO-PEREZ SUCKS MARIO FUCK YOU FOR LINKING IT TO THIS SITE SO IT MAKES ME GO THERE JUST TO GET A POST COUNT.
Poor SRK!I love love love him!He is the best!!But I suppose its better to err on the side of caution eh?If some Americans cant recognize Bob Dylan, how in the world can we expect them to recognize Shahrukh?
perez this news is kinda old but it jus emphasises what we all know : AMERICANS ARE IGNORANT IDIOTS ….and some even racist clearly
my thoughts are that it is unacceptable to detain people on the basis of last name or skin color.
It's called "racism".
Get over it! He is not known in the US and we have the right to check into the background of anyone coming into this country. If any other country had had the attack we did, and my name was of the ethnic background of the attackers, it wouldn't offend me to be questioned.
get over it.
Sorry, but I'd rather be safe than sorry
This is such big news. Shame I haven't heard of him.
The Indian Embassy got to pass on million of dollars owed to NYC in back taxes. So what if it took this guy a little longer then he felt convenient to pass through customs. They still go to have their BFD Indian Day parade this weekend in NYC.
Welcome to america, where your rights are limited if big brother feels like doing so.
just about my favourite actor ever…..
ok…there's a whole lot of cheese in bollywood movies of course, but still….can't help but dig his movies…at the top of the list is probably K3G, and of course, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
it's pretty shitty that he'd be treated like this….and it's shitty to see anyone treated like that….but seriously….King Khan???? why the fuck would anyone need to question this guy?…unless it was to get his autograph????
methinks someone's head is gonna roll for this….
Whatever keeps this country safe…they'll get over it.
Re: lovesperez2 – yea but the point is there was nothing suspicious about him it was just that he was indian and his name was khan ….how could they not bloody recognise him?! …its like if george clooney came to india and they didnt recognise him
fucking idiots
Re: NoSoyLoco – u mean hes not known by white people u twat….he IS known in america…coz i know him so duh
you're only THREE days late on this story.
It sucks for him but tough titty, the scruntiny is necessary for the safety of our country. If he's going to whine about it then he needs to stay out of the country and forego the financial rewards that he will receive for doing business in this country.
Re: candycaynegirl – Not if they are not US Citizens.
You know that could have all been cleared up in under 5 minutes with a google search.
Racial profiling is not going to rid the world of foreign terrorist, (responsible macro policies will) instead its just going to perpetuate racism and make it an acceptable form of discrimination.
A LOT of things could have prevented 9/11, but the policies and attitude we enacted as a reaction only created more terrorist group than before, counter-productive, blow-back.
Sure Khan was use to a VIP treatment so he might have been more upset than the usual person in his detainment, but it does help bring to light more of this BS.
those of you who would trade your freedom for security deserve neither.
a bit of a mangled quote there, but it's the truth….
there's an awful lot of 'fuck that guy, who does he think he is' etc…
well…
he's just about the biggest movie star in the entire world. period. end of story.
if the latest hollywood star was treated in the same way, a lot of your posts here would be different i think (tho i doubt many would admit it)
it's easy for some folks to say 'well, too bad…you shouldn't mind being questioned) lol…
if you're blonde and blue eyed, or obviously white, well….you're not going to get treated like this too often in an airport in the US
but….
if you're brown????
alllllllll the time…..
not quite as easy to 'grin and bear it' then…..
WHAT THE FUCK?
DOESNT ANYONE REMEMBER WHEN THE TOWERS FELL? WE NEED SECURITY!!!
TO FUCKING BAD IF YOU WERE QUESTIONED.
MY EXGIRLFRIEND IS ITALIAN AND WE WENT TO EUROPE A FEW YEARS AGO AND SHE WAS QUESTIONED AND HELD FOR A BIT BY NEWARK ALSO.
SO FUCKING WHAT? WE NEED SECURITY. AND WHAT IF IT WAS JUST SOME ASSHOLE WHO WAS GOING TO DO SOMETHING? THEN AMERICA WOULD BE NEGLIGENT, AGAIN.
ALL YOU FUCKING IDIOTS WHO SAY AMERICA IS RACIST, REMEMBER THE TOWERS. I HAD FRIENDS DIE THAT DAY. DID YOU.
IN ENGLAND, DO THE BLACKS INSIST ON BEING CALLED AFRICAN-BRITISH, FUCK NO…ONLY HERE DO THEY WHINE ABOUT IT. SAME WITH MEXICANS, YOU COME FROM MEXICO…YOU ARE MEXICAN. YOU ARE NOT LATIN, OR LATINO. YOU ARE NOT FROM LATIN AMERICA, YOU ARE FROM MEXICO AND JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE ASHAMED OF IT AND INSIST ON BEING CALLED SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT. I COME FROM AMERICA I AM AMERICAN. YOU PEOPLE ARE THE REASON THERE IS RACISM IN AMERICA. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF AFRICAN CANADIAN? HAVE YOU? OR AFRICAN-IRISH? YOU PEOPLE INSIST ON IT. NOT THE CAUCASIAN AMERICANS. YOU BLAME WHITEY FOR YOUR PROBLEMS, AND ITS YOURS. STEREOTYPES DIDNT JUST APPEAR ONE DAY. DONT LIKE YOUR PEOPLE, TRY AND FIX THEM AND STOP BLAMING WHITEY ON YOUR PROBLEMS. FUCK OFF. DONT LIKE THE WAY WE DO THINGS IN AMERICA, GET THE FUCK OUT. IF THINGS WERE SO GREAT IN YOUR COUNTRY WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE IN MINE?
so we should just let em all pass thru and become terrorized again???? i don't think so, we may be americans but we're smarter than that……..
racial profiling (or any other kind of profiling) is obviously wrong. however, this does not seem to be a case of racial prejudice. If people-famous or not-are going to come to the United States then they have to abide by the same laws as American people. Just because you're famous doesn't make you an exception.
But yes..its understandable to be pissed if you arrive at a foreign country ,then get detained and to top it all find out that your entire luggage has been lost.So dont be too harsh on the guy eh??
It's a good thing no American kissed him to welcome him here, or the Indian Government would REALLY be outraged!! (RE: Richard Gere)
Seriously this just shows how people profile and even though that's against the law they still do it. I'm tired of People of color and believe it or not gay people are always targeted in airports. I am all for safety, believe me ( i was in ny witnessing 1st hand the terror of 9-11. but seriously, they should have been aware that a celebrity no matter how known or not know was coming through their gate. This is just profiling and anything that India does as a result of this is warranted. This crap goes on everywhere and for the dumbest of shit. It's time to bring light on this bullshit.
OMFG…Another celebrity thinking he is above the law and should be treated special…I went to The dominican republic and when we came back Immigration stopped my hubby for an hour too…You dont see us complaining its part of the safety rules dumb asses!@!!!
Immigration & Customs were doing their work . I , too , when I travel and come back has come to the same process couple of times … That happens could happen to anyone and it does happen anyone that has something that needs their attention . There is nothing to fear when you don't owe anything .
okay guys for all of u saying "fuck him! it's all for security!" just wanna point out…he ummm said he UNDERSTOOD. he's not mad, he said he was necessary and he understands. so stop calling out the guy! also just googled him…this pic is a rly bad pic.
What he should have done was come in under an assumed hispanice name, dropped an anchor baby and then signed up for the free health care that is coming to people in our country illegally soon in the form of National Health Care Reform.
If this passes with monies specifically alloted to cover people living within our borders illegally our entire Congress will become aiders and abetters of domestic enemies and we should issue citizen's arrests on the whole of Congress, in my opinion .
He shoulda been allowed to make a call faster, yes. But even liberal-ol' me agrees in this era that we do have to flag people somehow, and last name is unfortunately one way. Sad but true. There is, however NO REASON for agents not to be courteous and assume the person is innocent of anything until they are quickly 'cleared.' Too often I find border people in the US when I am returning (and I have the most anglo name there is) are altogether suspicious and aggressive. Not a good welcome to the country.
damn, there are so many ignorant idiots commenting on this. white americans think it's okay to do anything to other people but when they have to go through it the WORLD IS ENDING!!! you guys don't know how it feels to be checked for absolutely nothing. and why are you blaming shahrukh? he said to forget it. it's because he has millions of fans all over the world that this has become such a big story. i this can happen to shahrukh then it can happen to anyone.
and those that say he's not known here are just about of ignorant dumbasses. he's well known to the indian, middle eastern and even the white community living here.
USA, india is one of your friends. if you're going to treat us like this then why should we be allies? huh?
Re: no on 8 –
number one, dude….you're yelling lol…
number two, when you start in with the 'you people'..well…thanks for letting us know how you really feel…..
there's a case to be made that it's folks like 'YOU PEOPLE' that are making the US a rather rotten place….
just sayin
Funny thing is that even with all that search and annoyance caused by people at airport , terrorists are still able to pass thru them …
This is soo fucking stupid , many people get stopped and u dont call protest for them . the usa has stricter airport security , if u dont want to take the chance of being stopped dont fucking go to the us.
Re: HollywoodTown – where in this article did it say that shah rukh khan thought he was above the law?? yep no where. his fans are just really passionate about him and want him to be safe and did not appreciate the fact that he was detained for hours, when a simple phone call would have been all it took to clear his name and get him out of there, although i dont think his fans should have gone as far as burning american flags, they were obviously really upset. AND it is no secret that american immigration IS racist and will detain people simply by the way they look.
I couldn't care less what this guy or India thinks about this incident…I'm more interested in our security. Kudos to the customs agents at Newark Airport.
Re: Aimee999 – Ure an idiot , contrary to ure belief bollywood isnt widespread here , man us people dont know the actor.so he got fucking stopped , boo hoo poor him being treated as many other get treated .
Re: no on 8 – Most immigrants are in your country because of the opportunities it offers and because of the presence of people like you who spend their time being rascist and hateful instead of actually grabbing hold of these chances and doing something worthwhile.
Re: QueenBrianaofSexy – the reason you haven't heard of him is because like most americans you are a fucking ignorant asshole who knows fuck all about anything.
this guy is more famous around the world thaRe: no on 8 – n Brad Pitt, MORE FOOL YOU FOR NOT KNOWING WHO HE IS.
Who cares about Bollywood? Their actors may be considered gods by the uneducated masses in India but they are nobodies in the rest of the world.
Re: no on 8 – listen, america is not the only country to be attacked by terrorists. in fact, 9/11 is nothing compared to what india has endured. for example, in 1984 people were murdered because of their religion, the mumbai attacks, and recently when i went there no one could even come close to visiting the prime minister's house because of a terrorist attack. there were attacks in england and spain. people need to stop thinking that everything america does is justified. shahrukh did nothing wrong, he has come here many times before for concerts and movies. getting interrogated for 2hrs isn't "security" it's racial profiling. if brad pitt was interrogated for 2 hours the US would act like it's the end of the world!
Re: Intheory – business in this country? this is how self centered americans are! they think everyone wants a part of them!
Sure you need your security, but SRK has been to America countless times for concerts or for filming movies. It's very strange that there were no better arrangements made for him so this could have been prevented.
This racial profiling bit is ridiculous but I don't think it will ever go away. Anyone is able to commit any crimes. Not just Muslim people.
As for those who say 'just because you're famous doesn't mean you're an exception', I completely agree. But you do realize that tons of Hollywood actors turn out to be the exception for any sort of crime? What do you have to say for that?
Re: methesupergirl – Uneducated masses?? India has a 70% literacy rate. And I care. And I'm coming to Princeton this fall. On a full scholarship.Which apparently none of your "educated" masses could get.:)
That's the price we all pay to keep America (and the rest of the world) safe(r). Get over it India.
Re: no on 8 –
I couldn't have said it better myself.. only if we had more intelligent people..
it's wrong about how long they kept him, but if it saves lives, i think he can deal. i'm indian and india takes everything WAYYYYY too seriously. they need to chill the fuck out
Re: methesupergirl – try telling that to the millions of AMERICANS, EUROPEANS, AFRIACANS, LATINOS AND ASIANS that love him you ignorant, racist BITCH.
The Ambassador to India says what? We love his films? Who is this guy? That being said, ya, customs and immigration questioning sucks, but BOO FUCKING HOO! That's the way it is today, so live with it!
Re: Ozz465 – You prolly wouldn't recognise Michael Jackson if he suddenly came alive.walked over and tapped you on your should.Because that is how far up your head is in your ass!
If he doesn't like it, then he doesn't have to come back.. period.. You wouldn't go back to a restaurant where you didn't like how they treated you, would you?? It's the same with a country… Simple…
Re: karma13 – The two of you should start a mutual admiration society.
jeez. im a sharukh fan, i've seen his movies, but what's the big deal. his name was on the list, so obviously he needs to be checked. just cuz he's a celebrity doesn't mean he's above the law. why is this such a big deal?
India is one of the most RACIST countries in that region, so how dare those stupid fucks even say anything. If your skin is darker than yellow cake mix, you will be treated horribly there in that country where people shit on the sidewalks, and sleep with rats.
If you don't like the rules, don't come over here for work! Stay your stinking asses in India! Also, can we have all the call center and computer manufacturing jobs that have been outsourced to that shitty country?
Re: iheartbradleyjames – Hey, thanks for being the only one who noticed that too. I guess we're gonna end up destroying this country from the inside, seeing as though no one reads the whole story anymore and just wants to bitch and complain without knowing the whole story. Anyone read how hate groups are on the rise due to our president? We're just gonna do it ourselves, what's the point of international security anymore?
I love Shah Rukh Khan! He's totally my favorite Bollywood actor — he can sing, dance and pour the velveeta on like nobody's business! I'm looking forward to his next movie.
Re: exador –
I GET CALLED YOU PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. WHITE, WOMAN, GAY. I WILL YELL IF I WANT. ACCORDING TO THE RELIGIOUS FOLK ME AND MY PEOPLE ARE WHAT ARE RUINING MARRIAGE AND AMERICA.
WHY DOES IT OFFEND YOU TO BE CALLED YOU PEOPLE. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY. PLACATE YOU? I THINK NOT. GET OVER IT.
YA'AL…NOPE. YOU GUYS….NOPE, YOU LADIES? NOPE, HOW ABOUT YOU FUCKTARDS? SOMEONE WILL BE OFFENDED NO MATTER WHAT I SAY. SO YOU PEOPLE IS WHAT I CHOSE. GET OVER IT IF IT OFFENDS YOU.
I DONT CARE IF YOU THINK I AM RACIST OR NOT. NONE OF YOU MATTER TO ME. IF YOU ARE NOT OUTRAGED, YOU ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION. '
DID YOU NOT READ WHERE INDIA IS BURNING EFFIGIES OF OUR PRESIDENT? WHAT THE HELL DID OBAMA DO? THEY ARE BURNING AMERICAN FLAGS FOR THIS? YOU ARE ALL SAD PEOPLE. YOU PEOPLE ARE SAD. PISS OFF THE LOT OF YOU. GET OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEN.
Yeahh this is a tough line the US Govt has to tread, and even though they get it right MOST of the time, sometimes they are going to screw up. Bottom line is that its better to have a net that's too tight than too loose. Better to catch some innocent people than it is to let a criminal through. So long as they right their wrong soon after, as they did with Shah Khan.
My best friend is Indian and she adjusts her travel plans expecting to get double checked at security in airports. She gets frustrated but ultimately understands it. It's actually shocking to me that there was an anti-American demonstration in India. In general, they don't hate America and aren't a violent country like that.
::AMERICANS ARE IGNORANT IDIOTS ….and some even racist clearly::
Way to be a hypocrite.
That said (to intelligent posters trying to have an actual adult discussion), since 9/11, TSA agents have certain procedures and protocols that must be administered. I travel a lot (and am an American citizen and not a minority) and have been stopped at checkpoints in other countries including this one (BTW, I'm not Muslim or a celebrity). Checkpoints are a necessity at all global destinations and occur among people of every age group, nationality, religion, etc. I don't question it when it happens to me because I'd rather deal with the process than not fly or have another attack happen. It's an inconvenience to go through all the procedures and regulations, but they are there to keep us safe. We cannot afford another attack and neither can any other country. I don't think Muslims are any more of a threat than any other person, yet they must endure the process like all of us (celebrities too). If I walked around blaming every person who stopped me at international airports for being anti-American or for discrimination, I'd be pretty unhappy. However, I understand the bigger purpose of security at airports and I accept that is the climate of the modern-day post 9/11 world and am more than willing to continue traveling.
Re: Roccomagoo – Yes kudos to the immigration officers for failing to recognize and for detaining one of the most famous people on the planet.I'm sure those two hours couldn't have been spent doing better stuff like apprenhending real criminals or doing something about those armed kids who seem to run all over your country murdering their fellow Americans.
FUCK HIM
Ummmmm at least we don't burn pictures of your leaders.
Re: methesupergirl – Bollywood is the largest movie industry in the world. Get your head out of your ass. Racist cvnt.
I work in US Immigration law and what happened to Mr. Khan was not "detention" but rather, secondary inspection. His name matched that of someone on a security list, he was asked to wait in a separate area, and he was released when his name was cleared. This happens every day to all kinds of people. His case was not extraordinary except that he's making a big deal because he is a celebrity and, heaven forbid, had to wait a little longer.
Re: methesupergirl –
you are an ignorant fool.
seriously.
uneducated masses in india you say?
India has a higher rate of literacy than the U.S. for starters, and one of the most educated workforces in the world.
you may not know bollywood movies yourself, but the entire rest of the world does.
Re: sniffy – Yes you can have all of them back. But wait, who will do all those jobs??Considering that most of you are too busy commenting on Perez Hilton and tweeting and living off unemployment checks.
Re: Anniegirl – No, then it's called racism AND xenophobia.
Re: soccergirlie003 –
I DONT CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS IN INDIA, I DONT LIVE THERE. I CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS IN AMERICA, WHERE I LIVE. I SMELLED THE BODIES OF THE VICTIMS OF 9-11. I WAITED IN MY TRAUMA CENTER FOR PEOPLE I COULD HELP, NOTHING CAME. JUST DEATH. I NEVER SAID THIS GUY DID ANYTHING WRONG DID I? THE PEOPLE OF INDIA ARE THE ONES WHO ARE MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF THIS.
GREAT FOR YOU FOR COMING HERE AND GETTING EDUCATED. WHY COULDNT YOU GET EDUCATED IN INDIA? WHY ARE YOU COMING HERE FOR YOUR EDUCATION IF INDIA IS SO WONDERFUL? HAVE YOU SAT IN AN AMERICAN HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM? HAVE YOU SEEN THE MEXICANS DRIVE FROM MEXICO TO GIVE BIRTH IN AMERICA, SO THEY CAN SUCK FROM THE GOVERNMENT TIT, AND NOT GIVE BACK TO IT. I HAVE SEEN ILLEGALS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD COME TO AMERICA FOR TREATMENT AND NOT GIVE BACK. THE MAJORITY OF ILLEGALS DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY AND SEND A MAJORITY OF MONEY BACK TO THE HOME COUNTRY. I DONT CARE WHO YOU ARE OR WHERE YOU COME FROM, PAY YOUR WAY OR GET OUT. CONTRIBUTE OR LEAVE.
ONCE YOU ARE EDUCATED IN AMERICA, DO YOU PLAN ON WORKING FOR AN AMERICAN COMPANY IN INDIA? WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR YOU AMERICAN EDUCATION? TAKING IT BACK TO INDIA TO HELP YOUR COUNTRY? OR WORK FOR A CAPITALIST COMPANY AND BECOME A CAPITALIST.
Protests over one guy being interrogated in a us airport for having a Muslim last name, imagine what would happen if they found out this kind of shit happens to innocent Muslims and even Christian Iraqis everyday in the same us airports
Wake up call for this ass clown: No one knows who you are here and no one cares. Respect the country you are visiting and deal with reality.
My uncle, your run of the mill midwestern white guy US citizen, gets stopped like that everytime he flies. Why……because his name is Jim Smith, the most popular alias ever. Not even kidding, security told him that was what makes his name come up on the list of passengers to 'check' every time.
This is an example of the systemic racism that pervades in American post 9/11 fear-dom.
news flash: racial profiling is illegal! If the custom and security department were doing their job correctly then they would be detaining actual criminals and terrorists - not innocent people. I applaud him for staying cool under inspection and if it were me, I'd be super pissed! He had all the right documentations to visit, he shouldn't be getting detained.
the thing that was wrong here was that he shoulda been allowed one call to prove who he was but they wouldnt even let him have that
BOLLYWOOD MAY BE POPULAR IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD, BUT IN AMERICA, WE HAVE THE REAL THING
HOLLYWOOD.
HELLO, THIS IS AMERICA, WHEN IN AMERICA, DO AS THE AMERICANS.
WE DONT WATCH INDIAN MOVIES, WE WATCH AMERICAN MOVIES.
WHY THE FUCK WOULD WE WANT TO LOOK AT THIS UGLY GUY WHEN WE HAVE BRAD PITT TO LOOK AT. GET OVER YOUR SELVES.
SERIOUSLY, WE HAVE HOLLYWOOD, NOT BOLLYWOOD, SO OF COURSE WE DONT KNOW WHO HE IS. THATS LIKE GOING TO A STEAK HOUSE AND ORDERING VEGETABLES.
Oh for Christ's sake, everyone needs to get over this. Of course there's going to be some racial profiling after 9/11 and all the global violence. duh. Why is the U.S. letting this become such a big deal? Those of us who are international travelers know how rough it can be going into other countries sometimes. Customs can be a real bitch to get through. I was once pulled out of line in Tokyo, had my bag emptied and checked, including the zippered lining in the bag, had my purse emptied out and every item in it checked and re-checked, went through a body search, and I was detained for over an hour. All this because I was the only blonde in line??? I could have complained to U.S. officials but I didn't because I knew it's all part of security in these perilous times. This guy really needs to get over himself, stop trying to stir up shit. There's already enough problems between countries. Dumbass.
EVERYONE!
This is a PUBLICITY STUNT! Shah Rukh Khan is releasing a film called "My Name is Khan" very SOON! This is to gain public attention. Bollywood is looking to expand and is using such publicity to gain platforms!
Don't take this too seriously! The entire world is ignorant. Americans judge others and others judge Americans and then there are the ones in the middle who are just fine and don't become outraged by sych.
And Indians are in no way shape or form Middle Eastern. India is one of the largest democracies in the world and an ally of the United States.
***THIS IS A PUBLICITY STUNT************
Re: no on 8 – wow..your a woman??makes me despise being the same gender and belong to the same sexual minority as you.
AND I AM BEING CALLED A RACIST (CORRECT SPELLING SWAN_IN12) FOR STANDING UP FOR MY COUNTRY. I AM NOT BURNING ANYTHING. JUST COMMENTING.
Re: ChasingUtley – Theres a terrorist named Shahrukh Khan?..hahaha..nice
All the anti-america, anti-indian, anti-newsworthy stories aside, it's quite ironic that SRK is actually acting in a movie called 'My Name Is Khan' which is releasing soon and is based on random detention and profiling of Indians based on their names.
So a cynic might say that it's all just a publicity stunt meant to rile up the people of India.
One might also say the world needs to wake the hell up. We don't go around incarcerating Brad Pitt, or in fact, not knowing who the hell he is.
Re: Roccomagoo – if you care so much about airport security you should be mad that they are doing they're job incorrectly and detaining the wrong people. how is detaining innocent people helping our security?
Re: no on 8 –
I am very sorry for the pain you have seen and felt, but really, is PEREZHILTON.COM the place to air out such a personal trauma? Perhaps a therapist's office or a political debate of some sort might be a more suitable site.
This is a gossip site after all.
and one of the hugest actors in one of the most populous country's in the world being detained at an airport for interrogation is surely worth the gossip.
Re: no on 8 – you really have a lot of issues don't you. WAIT SHOULD I WRITE IN ALL CAPS SO YOU GET THE POINT? WHY DON'T YOU EDUCATE YOURSELF AND THEN MAYBE YOU WOULDN'T BE SUCH A BIGOT?!
holy fuck you guys need to chill, he said he wasnt mad. and india complains to much anyway. but for u saying that if they dont like it they should go back to there own country are so ignorant. america is filled with ignorance and stupidity. dumb fucks, 911 was so long ago get over it, you guys are killing milllions
Uhm, famous people can be terrorists too.
Re: no on 8 – racist, racist, racist. do you even know what india and even asians in general have done for this country? doctors, lawyers, engineers. and many of them weren't even educated here. my aunts and uncles are doctors and they had their entire education in india. IN FACT, i plan on going to INDIA for medical school as many americans do. we have the smartest people in the world. americans are just too self absorbed to understand.
Re: no on 8 –
You are so silly. Of course you cannot compare Hollywood and Bollywood. Hollywood has more production value, more back-up from richer producers. That's not to discredit Bollywood, however. People all over the world love Bollywood. India, the Middle East, Russia, Africa, Canada, Europe, etc.
In America, they of course do as the Americans do. I love American films! Bollywood DOES though, have more followers throughout the world than Hollywood does, believe it or not.
Stop being so ignorant America, sometimes it shames me.
WE ARE NOT ALL IGNORANT IN THE UNITED STATES, for any readers out there who are not of U.S. origin.
He has a potato chip up his ass. I'm white and I cruise right through the security. The pink tank top helps too.
Re: no on 8 –
Oh and as for 'if you're country is so great, why are you in mine?'
It's called broadening your horizons and experiencing new things, meeting new people, learning new cultures, all leading up to you being a more well rounded, tolerant and understanding individual.
You might try it one day.
Then you wouldn't say something like 'I don't care about India, I don't live there.'
P.S.
Check out a few Bollywood Actresses, way hotter.
Aishwarya Rai
Deepika Padukone
Malaika Arora
Karishma Kapoor
and then there's the guys
John Abraham
Arjun Rampal
Shahid Kapoor
…just to name a few.
We have, um,
Lindsay Lohan?
Angelina, sure. But her mother's Canadian.
Jennifer Aniston, sure. But her father is from Greece.
Catherine Zeta Jones, well she's Welsh.
Robert Pattinson? Well, he's European.
Daniel Craig, Europe.
Diane Kruger? German.
Nicole Kidman? Australian.
Hugh Jackman? Aussie.
The joke is on AMERICA. Half our actors are from other countries!!!
Lindsay Lohan? Megan Fox (plastic surgery), Gwyneth Paltorw (yeah she's hot?)
Americans are SO IGNORANT
Re: AquariusP –
Well said.
I know that not everyone in America is ignorant, it's racist of us to say that you all are
But you made a fantastic point.
