Tyranasaurus Rex has truly topped herself!
TyTy wants us to celebrate our "natural" hair with National Real Hair Day on September 8th!
Yes, Tyra has created her own holiday.
It was only a matter of time, guys.
National Real Hair Day just happens to coincide with the premiere of The Tyra Banks Show, of course.
Banks will be "debuting" rarely-seen natural hair on the fifth season premiere of the talk show, which will be making the shift from syndication to The CW this fall.
We'll let Tyra take it from here:
"This season on The Tyra Show we're taking it to the next level and getting more real than ever before by encouraging women everywhere to own and rock what they've got and be proud! For the Season 5 premiere, I will be doing just that - no fake hair, I'm rocking my REAL hair. This will all be going down on September 8, 2009, which we're declaring National Real Hair Day! We welcome everyone to go natural with me!"
We're actually speechless.

Ehh… not much of a holiday for me. My hair's au natural 24/7. I rarely straighten or curl it except for special occasions. I never even use hair spray or anything
I'm just lucky my hair's thick and not frizzy. Oh yeah, and sorry Tyra, but this is kinda a pointless holiday…

Yes…she will rock her "real hair" that will be styled meticulously with hundred dollar products and styled by world renowned stylists. THAT IS DEFINITELY NATURAL.
I can't stand this woman!!!! She has a modeling show aimed at making women "marketable"!!!!!!!!!! Has she forgotten this fact!!!!! She's a mess!!!! She has helped feed the monster for years and now wants to teach it tricks, like how to sit, "Sit, Monster, Sit!!!" I can't stand her!!! Since when wearing your natural hair as it is became so special? isn´t it normal to wear YOUR NATUAL HAIR? African AMerican women are having big self esteem issues by not accepting what they have and how they are. They spend thousands of dollars (which they usually should use for something else) on wigs and chemical products to sport "caucasian looking" threads….sick, and this happens because people who are supposed to be rolemodels like Mrs. Banks appear on tv with her blond FAKE hairs….wrong example honey….you can´t deal with it by sporting your REAL hair only ONE DAY OF THE YEAR.
