MiMi's Got Talent, But At What Cost?
No one is going to try and deny that Mariah Carey is a diva. If you ask her, she'd probably tell you herself.
Her divaliciouness comes out of the need to be perfect, but this became somewhat of a tiresome concept for the crew over at America's Got Talent, who worked around the clock to ensure that her three minute performance was indeed perfect.
Even judge Piers Morgan was left drained after working with MiMi:
"She's such a perfectionist. We were all in the studio until nearly midnight as she planned her three-minute appearance, right down to the detail of the lighting, sound and camera angles. And work with producers in the editing suite apparently continued to 6 a.m. until she was absolutely happy. Mariah has the reputation of a diva. Despite everyone's best efforts, we still think the performance was a failure.

Actually Perez, you may want to check your Piers Morgan quote source. As someone who works on AGT, I can tell you for a fact that Piers wasn't even at the performance. The judges you see in wide shots are crew members with wigs. Yes she did go on around 1130p after originally scheduled to go on at 10p but the delay was due mostly to blocking her background dancers. Also, we weren't editing until 6am. Mariah didn't come into Post until the next night…and was sweet to everyone.
