George Lopez's fam is majorly PO-ed at the comedian!!
But why?
Because Lopez secretly buried his grandmother without telling the rest of the family about it!!!!
"George buried our grandma and didn't tell any of us about it," Lopez's sister Linda Sierra informed reporters on Tuesday.
"He didn't let any of us know - George's sisters, nephews and nieces are all heartbroken," Sierra continued.
How awful!
After her death on August 12th, the comedian buried his grandmother, Benita Gutierrez, at Glendale’s Forrest Lawn Memorial Park in California.
So sketch.

Maybe the grieving family should've offer to help pay for the burial services instead of crying the blues about it. I'm saddened that they're trying to make it seem like George is a bad person, who was taking care of his grandma… where were all the fam, then?? If they would've been more involved in the care of grandma this wouldn't have happened.

Not sure why it is "awful" since you don't know the story or how involved this sister was in her grandmother's affairs. Last time I looked "Glendale’s Forrest Lawn Memorial Park" is not some secret bunker so I'm not sure how "secret" this burial was. Maybe the grandmother did not want a memorial. Get some facts before you cast judgment.
This is VERY understanding SPECIALLY in a Mexican FAMILY! when my own grandma dies she says SHE DOES NOT WANT HER OWN DAUGHTER TO BE THERE! big family feud!! This type of thing happens all the time sadly enough but no one notices it. the grandmother and his sister must have had some sort of family feud.

unfortunately a lot of hispanic families are dysfunctional with some siblings not even communicating with other members of the family. if his family had been involved at all, they would have known she was ill and that she passed away and been more proactive about gathering burial details.

Shouldn't they have known that she was dead if they were close to her? If U were visiting her and aware of the death, U should have been on top of the funeral arrangements. MOST families make those calls when U R planning something as big as a funeral.
Me and my dad were estranged U could say for over 2yrs. There was no contact and no visit to the home that he was in. The poor man died on the 3rd of February, but his family didn't find out till March 3. My sister claimed that she was visiting him all the time, but he wouldn't have been dead if she was visiting. I had forfeited my right to ask why he'd been dead for so long because I hadn't made any contact or effort to see him.
So I believe that it was easy to bury his Grandma and nobody be aware if U weren't around in the first place. The situation is sad, but sometimes it is that way.
Umm because his family is horrible and they probably didnt want anything to do with her in the first place which is probably how he ended up with her, I just recently started watching his old sitcom and his abusive family history is ongoing theme on that show

That's just odd. He may possibly feel estranged from his family, but needs to realize that they may not have felt estranged from the grandmother. Did they leave him holding the bill?

if u read "why you cryin" you'll understand a little better. his family were such ass***** to him as a child. it was not until he made it big that they all wanted him around. he was the sole provider for his grandma and grandpa. the only reason he took care of her was because his grandpa asked him. he respected him enough to grant him that. his grandma was a vicious woman from what is written. it's true, if she was so sick and near death where were all these so called "family" members? it's awful what a family can do to you.
They can have a dignified service graveside anytime post burial. Grandma (RIP) won't be concerned. They don't have to invite George if they're still choked, but the thing to do would be to invite him to make the point, and to maybe reconcile.
This is just conjecture, but this kind of thing can happen when one family member does really well financially. Everyone else waits for the celeb to open the wallet and pay for the heavenly sendoff, when it should be shared on principle. Many times the well off person then pays for it all anyway, magnanimously.

I had to do the same thing once. The reason for it, is because family memebers were not always right by the dead person. They may have done offensive or neglectful things in life. They all want to huddle around after death…and that is outrageous. He probably did that because they deserved that and he wanted the grandmother to be buried with dignity and by those who took good care of her.
Well since I'm Hispanic too, I think I know whats up. The fam.
Jeez pervez, my best friend is Mexican and was raised by his abuelita, along with her 4 daughters and his 3 siblings. He is the only family member with a college education, the rest are pure peasants. Grandma died from brain tumor and he paid all medical and funeral expenses. All the rest still live on her property, burning candles in remembrance and bad-mouthing my friend because he isn't a family man.
This probably makes people think that he might have killed his grandmother…People c'mon. It's George Lopez. Really? But then again, why would he keep it from his family? There's NO excuse for that.

She didn't do any hard, and because George Lopez had the "money" to take care of her, he thought he could bury the grandmother and not tell anyone and keep her to himself. some history about George was that his parents abandoned him and he was raised by his grandparents….so if this is a sister, it is a half sister that was not raised with George and they did not have a familial relationship and since it is true that once he made it big he took care of his grandmother then these other relatives did not partake in her care….so if he felt that they most likely had no real part in their lives why would he tell them….

The family does care! George kept everyone outta the loop! appointments had to be arranged to visit her, he got power of attorney over her after she became ill, an the family did visit as often as george would allow, wednesday morning family members tried to pay her a visit, but no one was home. She passed away that morning and didnt call to tell ANYONE for his own selfish reasons, no the family didnt care for him and not because he wouldnt "kick down some dough" but because he LIED about his upbringing and turned his back on his family. He wasnt abandoned when he was ten, his mother was incapable of taking care of him because she is mentally slow so her mother took care of goerge. Ah, yes the horrible upbringing of being taken to wayyy to many dodger games, having your first car bought and paid for, always getting everything you ask for… sounds horrible. He couldnt even respect her wishes and bury her at the san fernando mission next to her husband like she had wanted and already paid for. GEORGE LOPEZ IS A PEICE OF SHIT AND I CANT WAIT TIL KARMA BITES HIM IN THE ASS!!!

I have been a neighbor of Benita's for 30 years. George took care of Benita and loved her very much. My grandson showed me all the bad things her grandchildren are saying. you never visited her! I know who did and that is George and his wife! Daughter Janet visited once in the last year and stayed 20 minutes. Adeline got arrested outside Benne's house for trying to steal something. At Cuco's funeral Benne was mad at all the "family" for false crying when they never visted and didn't show any care while he was alive. She said she wasn't going to have that. I heard her say it 20 times, when I die bury me quick and don't tell anyone. I don't want those falsos crying over me.
