Unless Patrick Swayze is lifting Jennifer Grey in the air showing everyone behind them her business, we don't want to know anything about this!
Lionsgate has announced they intend to remake of the 1987 classic Dirty Dancing, even though there is no earthly reason to.
The company was the mastermind behind the pathetic sequel, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, whose only salvation was the 15 minutes Patrick made an appearance!
Terrible idea! Just another Hollywood ploy to make some quick money it seems.

actually i jus say dirty dancing: havana nights, and its a decent fil, not great but not awful. Its not a sequel because its set before the first film and it has none of the characters from dirty dancing. Its its own film thats in the same vein as the original.
However I would not spend my money on watching a remake. Jennifer Grey and patrick swayze are that film- their chemistry was amazing a remake would just ruin it all.

there is nothing wrong with the original! you can watch it this moment and enjoy it as much as the first time you watched it many years ago. This is a dumb idea. I am usually not caring about remakes, but they need to leave this one alone.

I thought the original Dirty Dancing was overrated. The soundtrack was good, sure, but everything that came with the soundtrack was just meh. Does anyone in Hollywood read books? There's a wealth of movie ideas in the world of books.
