Hot off the heals of his DUI arrest, Artie Lange finds himself in the midst of a mayoral election campaign.
Residents from Hoboken, New Jersey, have launched a grassroots movement to elect Howard Stern's sidekick the mayor of the city.
WTF?!
“Hoboken has not received the respect it deserves from past and current politicians. Corruption, incompetence and political grandstanding have taken the place of a sincere caring for its residents,” said campaign manager, Bob Abouey. “Instead of a candidate peddling hope, we want Artie to cut through the politics.”
Lange, who has not endorsed the campaign, has lived in Hoboken since 2001, but is a Jersey native. He is a former All Union County third baseman from Union High School who worked as a longshoreman in the Port of Newark and Elizabeth.
“A former longshoreman with a rap sheet should have no problem getting elected in Hoboken. It’s practically a requirement,” continued Abouey. “The fact that he was All County in high school is icing on the cake.”
Is it the George W. appeal of electing someone you wanna have a beer with?!
