Yellow Submarine Dives Again!!
This is the last straw!
Disney and famed director Robert Zemeckis are in negotiations to remake the Beatles classic film Yellow Submarine.
Did all the writers die?!
Because that would be the only excuse to revive this untouchable film!
The original story was set in Pepperland, an undersea paradise protected by Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. When the band is captured by the music-hating Blue Meanies, a soldier is sent to Liverpool to find the Fab Four, who board the submarine and save the day.
And unless we're provided with complimentary hallucinogen-laced popcorn, we don't understand how this would work!
Who would be providing the voices?!
Because anyone other than the Fab Four is a waste AND impossible!
The goal is to have Yellow Submarine completed with 3-D digital production format by the 2012 Olympics in London.
An army of lawyers are working to get Zemeckis the rights to several Beatles tunes as well as secure rights to a possible Broadway musical for Disney!

First of all, The Beatles suck & 2nd of all, why would DISNEY remake a movie originally geared towards someone having an acid trip? WTF?
Perez, the original movie did not feautre the voices of the Beatles though! They thought the movie would be a flop, and so they didn't want to do it! So techinically that part would be quite consistant!

No, all the writers didn't die. There are lots of struggling young writers hoping to get their works on the screen but $$ are the bottom line and the big honchos are afraid to try anything remotely experimental. I know people who're completing scripts but someone has to give 'em a chance. And my own life story would make a fabulous movie but I wouldn't even attempt it.
How can they possibly think that this is a good idea????? The work of The Beatles should never be touched… they are classic and nothing can compare to them. I don't even like when one of their songs are covered, how the hell are they going to remake a movie! Horrible Idea!!!!!

the original wasn't actually voiced by the beatles, they just wrote the songs. I guess they weren't that interested in it, but liked what they saw so wrote "all together now" for it.

ACTUALLY PEREZ… In the original movie, the Fab Four did NOT provide the voices for the movie. Their songs are obviously used, and they do make a non animated appearance at the end of the movie with the song "all together now," but yea, they hired people to "sound" like the beatles.

First off, The Beatles did NOT voice their characters in the original. In fact they were dead set against the whole thing, but had no say in the matter. However, when they saw the film, they loved it and all agreed to appear live for the final few minutes. So the film can be made with voice actors doing the parts, just as it was way back in 1968. You know, you lose whatever little cred you have when you chatter on about shit you know nothing about. leave the fucking Beatles alone until you DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!

Perez, you (and various people in this thread, too) are a moron. The Beatles didn't record the voices for this movie in the first place, they used soundalikes. And it wasn't because it was going to be a flop (er wtf? How could anything released in the 60s and associated with the Beatles brand be a flop? Hello?!) or because they were "too busy" — it was because by this point they were falling out with each other constantly and would have had to be in the same room together for far too long to be comfortable. They'd also just recorded the album of the same name and were just sick to death of the whold concept.
However, this movie should NOT be remade, you're right. Who the fuck would go see it now? Who the fuck would 'get it' now? There are people in this thread saying the Beatles suck for christs sake — the world's gone to fucking shit.
