The Basterds Come Out On Top

inglourious-basterds-poster.jpg

Don't worry, Harvey Weinstein.

Quentin Tarantino just saved your butt, big time.

Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds is expected to bring in $35 million at the U.S. box office sales over the course of the weekend, saving Basterds' production company, The Weinstein Company, from sliding into bankruptcy!

Critics anticipated the film, starring Brad Pitt, to tank at the box office considering Tarantino's last film, Grindhouse was a total flop and Basterds was less-than-well received at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Guess Harvey's excessive promotion of the film worked out for the better!

Bitches lucked out!

Did U see the movie???? Thoughts???????

INCREDIBLE MOVIE! I have never been to a flick where the audience clapped when it was over…and not BECAUSE it was over! I laughed hard a lot and covered my eyes a lot, too! If you can deal with the "Tarantino" goriness, its TOTALLY worth it. I will see it again and again and again…and I also am not one who usually drools all over Pitt. Usually, I dont like his characters, but this was great. Also…the the girl who plays Shoshanna is great…dont know her name. The Jew Hunter will win an Oscar for sure!

…but unfortunately they spend 34 million 999 dollars and 99 cents on advertising and promotions. There isn't enough left for a pack of Twizzlers and a butter free small popcorn!

Re: nicknamemanders – Brad & Angelina not the King and Queen? Really? It is not even up for debate. Take your personal love for the homely maniston out of it. Then look at Forbes mag #1 most powerful celebrity in the World, Angelina Jolie. Then look at Ange & Brad's top position in film sales, global. They're number one. So that does literally make them the King & Queen of film, philanthropy & media. May be a hard pill for you to swallow. You need to take it like a man. They'll be on top of the world forever. Homely maniston will be non-exsistent (or on some tv show) within the next 5 years at 45yrs old, yikes. No merit to stand on…she'll never be nominated for anything other than an emmy award or worse, people's choice; where the ave fool with no culture or taste from the midwest votes. Oh wait, that's You.

It's not possible to go to CVS to get some gum without Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the cover of some tabloid, not going to spend $9 to see him for two hours on some WW2 Nazi (yawn!) film.

    6. 106

      loved it

Re: Blippp63 – you didn't see the movie & say Brad Pitt is a bad actor…. wow, Einstein you're a fuckin genius…how does it feel talking through your ass?

    8. 108

    9. 109

testing one two three my other messages neve showed up and I dont know why

    10. 110

I saw it last night! It was completely sold out! But what really got me about this movie was that every single person in the audience was laughing! At at the end of the movie there was not one person who did not stand up on their feet and clap! Where I live that never happens. By far the best movie I've seen since last winters oscar run. Everyone go see it!

    11. 111

And one more thing. When will the americans ever stop making movies about the nazis. It gets boring :P

    12. 112

I actually didnt like the movie at all.. i preferr his other movies over this one.. the best part of the movie was like the last 15 min.. 2 thumbs down :(

    13. 113

      It was hilarious! Tarantino

    14. 114

Well I had heard less than glowing reviews recently too, but after seeing the movie I have to admit they were unfounded. The movie is amazing on so many levels. The script, the acting, the special effects, the music, costuming, set design, the comedy, cinematography, etc. I loved it, and it didn't want to but I did.

    15. 115

This movie was fucking awesome saw it last night, was pissed at my boyfriend cause i told him to come early very early cause EVERYONE is going to be wanting to see this movie, and of course he was late and we had to sit right up front but It was by far the best dark comedy ive ever seen in my life and i hate bloody, gory movies which this totally was what inglourious Basterd was! 2 thumbs up here!

    16. 116

Omg….Brad Pitt is a effing BADASS in this movie!! I saw it twice this weekend!!!! This is a must see!!

    17. 117

I loved this movie!!!!! Great job guys.

    18. 118

…awesome. i would have dredged up someone other than brad like when they resuscitated travolta in pulp fiction. to top it off i found some great pictures from the LA premiere of all the cast on this free iphone app Celebrity Digest.

    19. 119

It was a great movie, a little bit bloody for my taste but it had some comedic relief and it seemed everyone in the theater had a great time including myself. I would definitely buy it on DVD or even see it again. It was my birthday when I saw it Saturday (22nd) and It was the first Rated R movie ticket I was allowed to buy myself and might I say, i wouldn't have picked a better movie to be my first. =]

    20. 120

Kill Bill 1 and 2 were much better

    21. 121

i saw it an hour or so ago, in german (i'm from austria) and it was absolutely worth the money :D so hilarious …brad pitt really did it… but i expected the movie to be more bloody and brutal..i mean quentin tarantino?… not what I expected, but absolutely worth it :)

and to your "less-than-well recieved at this years's Cannes Film Festival", Perez: Christoph Waltz, who is from Austria by the way ;) , won the Palme d'Or …

    22. 122

      epic movie.

    23. 123

      amazing movie!

    24. 124

Not only did I absolutely hate this film, I officially am no longer watching anything involved with Tarantino in any way. In my opinion, it was way too long with boring, drawn out and, not to mention, pointless scenes. I probably cringed in disgust a few times during the film and sat there rightfully predicting the outcome of the film. And, to top it all off, Brad Pitt was in barely any scenes! Can you say marketing ploy? Advertising Brad Pitt so much, and have him scarcely appear in the film?

    25. 125

Amazingness!!!!! QT is pure genius, nothing he creates is crap… FYI losers

I yawned my way through a lot of it…mainly the parts without brad pitt… he was amazing in every way possible… DUH

    33. 133

Movie was amazing!!! different from the Tarantinos old movie style but awesome non the less. Ill give Brad Pitt one hundred Nazi scalps if they do a sequel or pre quel with his character he was awesome

    34. 134

slow in parts … but absolutely LOVED it!!

    35. 135

Perez: Inglourious Basterds received fair praise in cannes for what the film is. It won best actor and received a long ovation. But Tarantino only wants to make "cool films". How can you expect Isabelle Huppert and gang to react? She's played in films that are 200% more deep and intellectual. Not that Cannes requires intellectualism, but it does require originality, and maybe Tarantino is simply doing his trick these days: Tarantino cinema. I'll have to wait and see Haneke's film to judge if Tarantino really lost that trophy. I was surprised Lars Von Trier was a great looser, because his film sounded…errr…fierce.

    37. 137

    41. 141

      Awesome Movie!!!!

    42. 142

Re: shootingstar1994 – Calm down wanker, Americans do spell Bastard correctly, it was just a movie title.

    43. 143

every movie tarentino makes is a stupid pile of violent crap, and brad pitt is a very bad actor, can't stand either one of them.

    44. 144

      Angelina is BOX OFFICE POISON
Tom Cruises movie VALKERIE did better then Changling at the box office
and everyone knows Hollywood is not exactly in love with Tom lately.
Brad can't act. His pretty boy face is what has been getting him by. Together they are losers. And soon to be THE BIGGEST LOSERS IN HOLLYWOOD.
Can't stand them. Don't see their movies or buy any mags with them on the cover.
Hollywood is the last to let them go. Hollywood is fickle.
Anyone with half a brain is OVER THEM!

    45. 145

I saw this movie and although it was longer than I anticipated and a little more gory, I really loved Brad Pitt's character. Brad Pitt made this movie!!

    46. 146

I slept in Pitt-Potty-head-always-drunk’s movie. It was RIDICULOUS.

    47. 147

      The movie of the year!

    48. 148

We have lost the King of Pop but we got the KING OF POT!
